🎄 Merry Christmas 🎄

Merry Christmas from my family to yours. Enjoy your day, being with your loved ones and the festive break. It's been a busy month and year and I am looking forward to putting my feet up. Today marks my third Christmas with R.H. Wood Carpentry & Home Maintenance (I have no idea where the time has gone). Thank you all so much for supporting my local business in Somerset.

🛠️ LED Sensor Mirrors 🛠️

It's been a while since I posted as it's been a busy few months but I thought I'd share one of my most recent projects with you. This particular client requested wall vanity units made with some of their pre-bought LED sensor mirrors. This was the end result of the units in their new home and I am so pleased with how they both turned out.

🛠️ Bespoke Wardrobe and Dressing Table 🛠️

I haven't posted anything in a while as I've been occupied on another project. The owners on this project had a space set back into the wall in one of their bedrooms. They gave me a drawing and wanted the wardrobe to also act as a dressing table. Here is the end result.

🛠️ Recently completed utility room 🛠️

I always feel incredibly grateful when I get asked to return and carry out work in homes where I have done previous projects.

This particular room has had a complete transformation. It wasn't being utilised at all. It's now an incredibly practical space with loads of character and I imagine will be a frequently visited utility room.

🛠️ Oak ledged doors 🛠️

I was asked to make some oak doors to finish off some storage cupboards in a loft conversion space with some bespoke openings. The doors and furniture were made to match the existing bedroom doors. The iron pull handles were bought from Glastonbury Reclamation to finish everything off.

⚒️ Recently completed kitchen island ⚒️

I did some work on this house over 12 years ago and felt hugely privileged when asked if I could come and make a kitchen island to match the existing kitchen which was handmade out of oak.

I never installed the kitchen but I did a lot of the other interior work which involved oak ledge and brace doors, oak skirting and staircases.

All four sides have different designs and make use of as much space as possible with a combination of shelves, wine rack, built-in cupboard, handmade draws and a built-in wine fridge, all topped off with a huge 1.2mtr x 2mtr black granite worktop and stainless steel door and draw furniture. I'm looking forward to seeing the stainless steel kick plates added once they have arrived.

It's definitely a feature in the kitchen and I'm sure it will be used daily.

A few recently completed projects.

A few months ago I installed a partition wall with sound proofing to create an office area inside a client's house. They then asked to have a bookcase made and gave me a detailed drawing with the required shelf space. I look forward to seeing the completed unit once painted and the relevant lighting has been added.

The blue unit was another bespoke request for a customer who wanted to make use of a particular area in their kitchen. We installed wheels on the unit so it could be moved to access utilities behind when required.

Lounge Book and Television Display Unit

I was approached and asked to make a display unit for this customer's lounge room. They sent me some ideas which they had found online as well as spending some time drawing up layout options. The unit spans the width of the room at 3.2 meters and has been spray painted in a brilliant white satin finish top coat.

In between my other projects last year I met the owners of Somerset Heavenly Huts.

I initially went to do a small job in the house and then was invited to work on this amazing project. It was definitely one of my highlights of last year and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

I recommend a follow and if you ever find yourself looking for a getaway to Somerset then book yourself a stay in this stunning luxurious shepherd's hut.
