I do like building gates.i get to work in people's gardens,and at the end of the job I only have to sweep up and not get my most important tool off the van,my Henry hoover!
Yesterday's gate was tucked away down a well hidden alley, just off Easton.
Now I could get treated wood from any number of merchants in Weymouth, but in my experience they just dont stock the quality that I am happy to put my name to.even though its extra millage and time,I use Dorchester Timber Ltd for the majority of my materials. Always really good quality, great service and well stocked.
Super impressed with the tea experience from my customer.

Yesterday was a fresh start down at the cove, but I soon warmed up after multiple trips up and down to the van...i even managed a lovely Friday fry up from quiddles..
A new door on my customers beach hut. This was made from pressure treated wood,and will also be painted, and it will with stand the full force of the elements. Hung on marine grade stainless steel hinges.

This was a really enjoyable job.
New front door canopy,with cedar roof tiles.
My customer wasn't enjoying the existing canopy, so we got that away,and build this new one,which adds a little more curb appeal.
I painted the gallows brackets and facia with three coats 'Zinsser all coat',which will provide full protection against the Portland weather.

Another lovely day to be outside. Two cups of tea and a few biscuits helped get my customers gate in its right and proper place.
