Usually, I’m sat at the top table at BNI, but this time I was standing at the front of the room presenting.

I shared a bit about how we work, how we collaborate with architects and other industry professionals, and what the journey looks like for clients from the first conversation through to project completion. I also gave a sneak peek at a new app Jackie has been working on behind the scenes to help make the client experience even smoother.

One of the highlights of the morning was receiving a lovely testimonial from someone in the room. It’s always appreciated when people take the time to share positive feedback, especially in an industry where trust and reputation mean so much.

When it comes to your home, nothing carries more weight than a personal recommendation.

In this video, Leon shares our new project in Bookham - a referral that came through the Client's QS, after working with him on a previous project.

For something as significant as home construction, reputation matters. A professional endorsement offers reassurance that the team stepping into your home has already earned trust elsewhere. It’s not just about the finished result, but the experience throughout the process.

Referrals are often a sign that a project was delivered with care, communication and attention to detail.

If you’re considering work on your home and would like to speak to a team trusted by industry partners, feel free to get in touch.

What could your garden become?

This project shows the journey from on site to handed over - a garden room delivered as part of a wider home transformation. What started as an underused corner of the garden is now a purposeful, beautifully integrated space that feels completely connected to the home.

Garden rooms are incredibly versatile. They can serve as a retreat, workspace, entertaining zone or wellness space - and when thoughtfully designed, they feel intentional rather than added on.

Whether incorporated into a full renovation or created as a standalone project, the right garden room enhances how a property functions day to day.

If you’ve ever looked at your outdoor space and wondered what more it could offer, it might be time to explore the possibilities.

What happens when a home is completely reimagined rather than just extended?

Sharing more images from this recently completed transformation - a former bungalow now reshaped into a bold, contemporary family home.

By rebuilding the entire upper floor and roof structure, the layout and proportions were fundamentally improved. The mix of microcement columns, timber cladding, colour-through render, brick slips and aluminium windows creates depth and contrast, while still feeling cohesive and considered.

It’s a home designed to feel modern, light-filled and ready for the years ahead.

If you’re thinking about how your property could evolve rather than simply expand, it’s worth starting that conversation.

FAQ: How involved will I need to be during the build?

The honest answer? As involved as you’d like to be.

Some homeowners enjoy being closely engaged at key stages - reviewing finishes, visiting site, understanding progress. Others prefer a more structured update approach, with clear communication at agreed milestones so they can focus on work and family life.

What matters most is clarity. Knowing when decisions are required, what those decisions affect, and how they impact timeline and budget removes unnecessary stress.

A well-managed project shouldn’t feel overwhelming. It should feel organised, transparent and predictable - even when complex.

If you’re considering a renovation or extension and wondering how the process would fit around your life, it’s worth having that conversation early.

Most days, you’ll find Leon on site reviewing progress, meeting prospective clients to walk through ideas, or in the office planning upcoming projects and coordinating with the team.

But building homes properly means more than just turning up with tools. It means staying sharp, investing in ongoing professional development, and maintaining strong relationships with architects, designers, suppliers and specialists.

Leon also dedicates time to BNI Ascot, a local business networking group focused on meaningful connections. Recently, members gathered at Fairmile Vineyard in Henley alongside other local groups - a relaxed setting to strengthen relationships beyond the usual business environment.

Strong local connections don’t just benefit businesses. They benefit clients - through trusted suppliers, smoother collaboration and a network that helps projects run well from start to finish.

Good building is rarely a solo effort.

Ever notice how the smallest details often make the biggest difference?

A look back into our archive at this contemporary renovation - a home brought confidently forward while still sitting comfortably within its surroundings.

Larger window openings invite in natural light, creating bright, open living spaces. Memorable tile work adds personality and texture. Even the laundry room was designed to feel elevated and intentional rather than hidden away - because everyday spaces deserve just as much care.

A lighter canvas paired with both traditional and modern touches of colour gives this home longevity, character and warmth.

If you’re thinking about how your own home could evolve to better suit the way you live now, we’d be happy to talk.

Before construction begins, there’s often more happening than meets the eye.

On this project, early involvement meant supporting the required ecological surveys ahead of works commencing. Surveys like these - often attached as planning conditions - help ensure development does not negatively impact protected species or local habitats.

In the UK, ecological assessments can form part of the pre-commencement requirements within a planning consent. Addressing them at the right stage keeps projects compliant, avoids delays and ensures construction can move forward responsibly.

It’s another example of how being involved early helps keep everything running smoothly once on site.

If you’re planning a project and want a construction team engaged from the outset, we’re always happy to talk.

Can you picture this in your own garden?

Swipe through to see how this garden room is taking shape - from CGI concept to on-site. This space has been designed to blur the lines between indoors and out, with a dedicated seating area and a beautifully positioned hot tub creating a true retreat at home.

It’s not quite finished yet in these photos, but you can already see the vision coming to life.

There’s something powerful about seeing an idea move from screen to structure. It helps you visualise how your own outdoor space could evolve - not just as an add-on, but as a place to unwind, entertain and switch off.

If you’re considering how to make more of your garden space this year, it’s worth starting the conversation.

What if the most valuable space on your property isn’t inside the main house - but part of the bigger plan?

As part of a full renovation of this home, a three-car garage was reimagined into a two-car garage with a fully functioning annexe. Not an afterthought, but an integrated part of the overall transformation.

When a renovation is approached holistically, spaces like garages become opportunities. Annexe accommodation can support multi-generational living, create independence for older children, offer guest space, or provide a private work area - all while adding meaningful value to the property.

It’s about maximising what you already own and making every square metre work harder for you.

If you’re planning a wider renovation and wondering how to unlock your home’s full potential, we’d be happy to talk it through.
