Edsel Gomez, Grammy Award-winning pianist, brought a whole lot of Latin jazz to Jazz In The Spring in New Delhi.

Blending jazz with Afro-Caribbean and Brazilian influences, his performance moved between rhythms, sounds and improvisations, all in the intimate setting of The Lodhi New Delhi. The kind of evening where you can simply sit back, tune in and let the music take over.

to an evening where Javed Akhtar‘s words met Amitabh Bachchan’s voice.

In 2001, we organised the launch of Javed Akhtar’s “Quiver: Poems and Ghazals”, bringing together voices from literature, cinema and academia: Amitabh Bachchan, Prof. Amartya Sen and Prof. Gopichand Narang, alongside the poet himself.

But the evening was more than a book launch.
For an entire hour, Javed Akhtar read his verses in Urdu, while Amitabh Bachchan brought the English translations to life.

At a time when book launches often centred on the book itself, we chose to make the experience of literature the heart of the occasion, creating a space where poetry could be heard, felt and shared.

“Art is powerful, and when it is combined with stories, it becomes a shared language that speaks to the heart before it reaches the mind.”
A thought from our Founder & Director, Sanjeev Bhargava, that feels especially relevant to the journey of these artworks.

The Ramayana has travelled across generations and cultures, taking on different forms across India and ASEAN. At the ASEAN–India Artists’ Camp 3.0, 21 visual artists from both regions brought their own interpretations of the epic to life in Shillong.

From Shillong to SSIFS, New Delhi, and now Jakarta, these works have found a new audience at the ASEAN Headquarters, where members of the ASEAN diplomatic community came together to experience diverse artistic interpretations of a shared cultural story.

The camp was presented by Ministry of External Affairs, in collaboration with Seher, with exhibition support from Indian Mission to ASEAN and ASEAN.

Ramayana has always connected cultures.

Across generations and geographies, its many retellings have travelled across borders. At ASEAN–India Artists’ Camp 3.0, presented by the Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with Seher, 21 artists from India and ASEAN came together to explore the epic through their distinct artistic traditions.

Following a 10-day residency in Shillong, Meghalaya, the artworks now travel to Jakarta for the exhibition “Echoes of Ramayana: Artistic Journeys across ASEAN and India”, supported by the Indian Mission in ASEAN and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Climate change does not impact everyone evenly. Its sharpest costs — in water collection, agricultural labour and the health effects of extreme heat — fall disproportionately on women. Yet far fewer women are in the rooms where the response is shaped.

The India Chapter of Women Leading on Climate, curated by CEEW, is inviting nominations for the Women in Sustainability Awards to recognise women advancing climate action, sustainability and inclusive development across India.

SEHER is proud to join as an Outreach Partner, helping bring these awards to a wide audience of women and organisations whose work deserves greater visibility.

Rising Star Award — Recognising an emerging woman leader under 30 whose vision, innovation and early achievements demonstrate exceptional promise in climate and sustainability.

Community Impact Award — Recognising women-led organisations whose community-driven climate and sustainability initiatives have created transformative impact and strengthened resilience, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

Icon Award — Recognising an established woman leader with 10+ years of experience whose leadership has transformed institutions, influenced policy, built organisations or catalysed large-scale climate and sustainability action.

Art and Culture Award — Recognising an individual or organisation using storytelling to make climate change more accessible, relatable and action-oriented. The entry can be of film, literature, photography, sculpture, installations, painting, digital media or other creative formats, and the applicant must be a woman who played a leading role in shaping the work.
