Our latest project has just been completed using Viero Decoratives Ghibli, a finish that perfectly balances subtle movement, depth and sophistication.

The beauty of Ghibli lies in its ability to transform a surface without overwhelming a space. As natural light moves throughout the day, the finish reveals delicate tonal variations, creating a calm and refined backdrop that complements both contemporary and timeless interiors.

On this project, we applied Ghibli throughout multiple spaces, bringing continuity between the living areas and bathrooms while maintaining a luxurious, understated aesthetic. The result is a home that feels warm, elegant and effortlessly connected.

What I particularly appreciate about mineral decorative finishes is their ability to add character and texture in a way that paint simply cannot replicate. Every wall becomes part of the design story.

From hidden damage to velvety elegance.

This project began with the removal of multiple layers of failed and moisture-damaged wallpaper, revealing a wall that needed extensive preparation before any decorative finish could begin. Every unstable surface was carefully stripped back, repaired, sealed, and refined to create a sound foundation worthy of the final result.

Once the substrate was fully restored, we applied Viero Silk, a premium decorative finish that delivers soft movement, depth, and a subtle reflective quality. The result is a sophisticated surface that shifts beautifully with the natural light, adding texture without overpowering the room’s classic architectural features.

A recent kitchen installation featuring seamless microcement surfaces paired with a terrazzo-effect backsplash.

The worktop and base were finished in microcement to create a continuous, joint-free surface, offering durability while maintaining a clean architectural aesthetic.

The backsplash was completed using a terrazzo-style microcement finish, introducing texture and visual movement while keeping the palette refined and natural.

Microcement is increasingly being specified in contemporary interiors due to its minimal thickness, versatility, and ability to create completely seamless surfaces across multiple substrates.

As the year closes, I’ve taken a moment to pause — something I don’t often do.

This past year with FineLines Decor has been full of lessons. Long days, quiet wins, setbacks that taught me more than the successes ever could. Every finish completed wasn’t just a job, it was a reflection of growth, patience, and belief in the craft.
