Out with the old - in with the new.

This old retaining wall had completely failed with pressure pushing the wall out from its original position by approximately 30 degrees.

Camp site access track

At an undisclosed location (in paradise) my job was to cut in a 260 metre long access track across a part of a farm, to a prime water front camp site where I’ve previously camped.
Just waiting for a bit of rain now for the grass to get established.

*** Plywood Cladding ***

Back in 2018 or around that time I designed our family home, which I took time off my then career to be involved in the building process with Knights Construction Ltd who were absolutely awesome, and I’d highly recommend them.

The cladding approved with the permit was ply and batten. So as we got close to the cladding stage I was told by the building rep that the longest lengths of plywood available in the NZ market were 2.7m in length.
There was no way I was having what I thought, and think to this day, are unsightly looking horizontal
flashings on my house!

So I took it as a personal challenge to find a supplier of full length ply sheets to meet our requirements, with our longest length needed at 6.8metres.

So after spending most of the day on the phone speaking to what felt like everyone in the plywood industry I finally hit the jackpot!!!

TRICLAD Ltd, based in Cambridge. They supplied all the lengths we required and at a competitive price.

AND, just so you know, TRICLAD Ltd have not solicited me to place this Facebook post in any way, shape, or form. It’s self initiated in the hope that maybe someone else wants to avoid those horizontal flashings in their plywood cladding.

Food for thought for all you builders, and everyone else.
