A throwback to our interior design project Old Rose, which I still think about more than is probably normal. The crown moulding, adding in the white marble, those historic windows. Some rooms just make it very easy to do your job.

Introducing our final Home Collections DIY interior design box in the series: Tamaki Makaurau

Inspired by our Nelson Street kitchen project (feautured on My House My Castle!) Tāmaki Makaurau has a slightly minimalist clarity, but is also grounded through deeper, volcanic tones and materials that hold a bit of weight. The palette is pared back, but not stark - warm whites, stone, and layered volcanic browns that feel tied to the landscape.

Suitable across bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, living, or dining spaces.

Our DIY interior kitsets are fully designed palettes of materials and finishes to guide your renovation or new build. Each includes samples of the materials you’ll need, renderings of ways you can use your palette (as pictured here), a printed guide, and access to exclusive trade pricing from brands like , , , .studio_ , and more, giving you a clear design direction for your home.

Now that winter has set in here in New Zealand, there’s nowhere I’d rather be than tucked up with a book at Buffalo Lodge. Designing a space that sits harmoniously within the surrounding landscape was a truly rewarding process.

Still obsessed with the marble bathrooms at the Hotel Chelsea. In love with the contrast of black and white marble, softened by the unlaquered warm brass tapware.

A look at the stone counters in some of our favourite bar projects. From the crisp white of the Old Rose’s to the deeper veined, more atmospheric tones of Barbette and the Hotel Chelsea Lobby Bar.

We’re drawn to spaces that bring people together, whether through quiet intimacy or a more lively energy.

Introducing our Home Collections DIY interior design box: Kawakawa

Our Kawakawa palette is inspired by the magical native kawakawa leaf and a sense of vintage romantism; all whilst being distinctly Aotearoa.

Muted greens and warm neutrals create a grounded base, layered with natural textures that deepen over time. Materials are selected to age well, softening and evolving with use.

Our DIY interior kitsets are fully designed palettes of materials and finishes to guide your renovation or new build. Each includes samples of the materials you’ll need, renderings of ways you can use your palette (as pictured here), a printed guide, and access to exclusive trade pricing, giving you a clear design direction for your home.
