1.5 litres of water. That’s what a standard shower dumps into your bathroom air every time it runs.

Without a good extractor fan, that moisture sits on your ceiling, turns into black mold, and eventually costs a fortune in rot repair.

I’m a sparky, not a builder. But we see the damage this causes in older South Auckland homes every single week.

Here's a quick test: turn your bathroom fan on and hold a single square of toilet paper up to the grill. If the fan can't hold the paper up, it’s not pulling enough air (or the motor is dying).

Takes 5 seconds to check. Might save you thousands in ceiling repairs.

Mine costs $30/year now. Domain only. Hosting, forms, email, reviews integration, all free.

I'm a sparky, not a developer. But I used an AI coding tool (Claude Code) to write it with me, brief by brief. Took 4 hours, not months.

The tools have caught up. If you're paying a few hundred a month for a site you barely touch, there's a different path now.

We’ve been getting a lot of callouts lately for old, unsafe wiring—especially TRS or rubber insulated cables that are starting to fail. One of the biggest warning signs? That strange green oozing goo.

What’s the green goo?
It’s caused by the chemical breakdown of old copper wires and insulation. It can leak out of outlets, light fittings, or switches, and it’s a sign your wiring is breaking down and could become dangerous.

Other signs of aging wiring:
