Finish Friday | Investing in Safety & Our People
This week’s spotlight goes to our teams who took part in two valuable training sessions during the past few weeks.

Our Regional Managers and Health & Safety team led a Toolbox meeting session (with breakfast provided), recognising some exceptional individuals while reinforcing the importance of maintaining a strong safety culture across all sites. These conversations are key to ensuring everyone goes home safe every day, something we never lose sight of.

We also hosted Hazard Awareness Training as part of our ongoing commitment to achieving and maintaining our hazardous substance compliance certification. A big thank you to James from DGC, who delivered an engaging session supported by real-life NZ Health & Safety case studies. These practical examples sparked meaningful discussions and helped bring risk awareness to life.

It was great to see strong participation and collaboration across the business, with involvement from our roofing, waterproofing, heights, building, and operations teams to name a few. The engagement with the facilitator and willingness to share real-world experiences made the sessions especially impactful.

At APS, we’re committed to continuous learning, strengthening our safety practices, and creating opportunities for our people to grow.

We’re proud to mark another successful project completion, the full exterior repaint at Meridian Apartments.

This was a standout job that required precision, planning, and teamwork at every stage. This project highlights the capability, focus, and high standards of our Heights team, who delivered an exceptional finish under demanding conditions.

Maintenance Monday: Post-Storm Checks Matter

After every major storm, your property tells a story, if you know where to look.

Strong winds and heavy rain can expose hidden issues that may not be immediately visible, especially around ageing or rotten window frames. This week, we’re proud to highlight one of our National team’s projects — another successful exterior painting and maintenance project at Rangiora in Christchurch 👏

This project involved a full exterior maintenance and coating scope, delivered with a strong focus on safety, planning, and quality ex*****on from start to finish.
Planned and delivered with strong safety coordination, the team managed site communication, exclusion zones, and access equipment efficiently. The works included thorough surface preparation, careful protection of existing finishes, and the application of two high-quality coats, followed by a full clean-up and tidy handover.

Working alongside active infrastructure always adds complexity and requires additional planning and coordination — but our team ensured everything was managed smoothly and safely.

A great result delivered by the crew, showcasing attention to detail, strong communication, and commitment to quality.

Finish Friday ✅ | 130 Pakuranga Road - Exterior repair and repaint

We’re pleased to highlight one of our recently completed projects, this time at St Kentigern College, where our team completed the exterior refurbishment and repaint of the rowing barns.

This project included:

🔧 Exterior wall repairs to restore and strengthen the overall structure.

🔲 Replacement of skylight windows to improve durability and interior brightness.

🖌️Full repaint of the container units for a clean, refreshed finish.
