An old galvanized pipe from the mid 1980's had weathered away and finally failed.

Persons unknown have snapped a screw on a wok burner and then drilled a hole for a new screw. The drill bit and screw have pierced the gas inlet of the gas bowl.

The new home owners that I was working for are not amused.

Gas issues. There is no DIY .

The recent replacement of the gas hob required the stainless steel countertop to be completely recut to size, as the old hob had rounded corners. The shape of the oven can make fitting the pipework challenging; hence, it is advisable to fit the oven back in place, mark its top and rear, and work within the available space.

An LPG supplier threatened to terminate delivery to this residence due to the bottles being positioned too close to an operable window. To address the issue, the gas line was extended and the twin pack regulator was replaced, having exceeded its designated replacement year.

When a gas leak is located and fixed, don't assume that it's okay. Check again. The original nylon washer was crushed and had split. A new fiber washer was fitted. Job done, right?

A second leak on the same valve was found.

Yellow multi layer pipe has its place . But connecting directly onto a gas hob is not one of them.
Flexible braided hose or copper it the correct way .

Need more heat for wok cooking ?
This Electrolux hob might be for you . It has a 24 mj/h wok burner that 6.66 kw .
Many other conventional wok burner or triple ring burners are around 15 mj/h or 4 kw .
These values are for Natural gas .

Cut out requirement is 560mm x 490mm and a depth of 55mm.

I installed one for a customer in Blockhouse Bay . It's a good looking bit of kit .
