Ever wonder why yellow works so well on stoats? Every animal sees a different slice of the colour spectrum - deer see blue and ultraviolet (which is why blaze orange is invisible to them!), while stoats, like cats and dogs, see yellow and blue particularly well. That’s likely why yellow sits right in their colour sweet

At first glance, the ramp inside a NestGard might not look particularly exciting.
But there’s some clever thinking behind it.
Conventional DOC trap enclosures can require an animal to step up onto the trap treadle.
NestGard instead uses a ramped approach, with a small step down onto the treadle.
The design aims to put the animal in a less favourable position for reversing back out of the kill zone once the trap fires.
It’s one of those details you probably wouldn’t notice unless someone pointed it out.
But that’s what we like about good trap design — every little detail should have a job to do.

Set up with durability to ensure even a pig rooting around can’t pull it away. The Nestgaurd 150 is practical and durable, the two main attributes to setting your traps!

One trap doesn’t suit every job! Targeting Norway rats in a suburban drain or compost heap calls for a different setup than a bush block where you’re after stoats, weasels, rats and mice all at once. Being able to see right through matters for stoats, and colour plays a part too - it really is horses for courses depending on your project area and target.

Anyone who services trap lines knows the product isn’t just about catching the predator.
You’ve also got to live with the thing.
Carry it in. Install it. Open it. Clean it. Rebait it. Reset it. Repeat.
That’s why we like this little detail on the NestGard:
The lid comes completely off.
No trying to work around an awkward hinged lid while you’re cleaning, rebaiting or resetting your DOC150.
It’s a small feature, but when you’re servicing trap after trap, those small details start to matter.
NestGard was designed by trappers with the practical side of trapping firmly in mind.

From flat-packed to assembled, here's how the Collapsible Live Cat Trap Tunnel comes together.

Inside the box you'll find the trap body with setting bar attached, two door plates, one trip plate with a hole in the centre, and a split pin.

Don’t just scuff one spot - scuff the whole run! Scuffing here and there along the path helps your target feel comfortable moving all the way through, not just up to the entrance. Do this every time you service the trap to reactivate that neon effect and keep them coming back.
