We’ve found more and more people are taking their gas heaters out. With no gas exploration in New Zealand, there’s no more locally produced gas coming onto the market.

It’s unpleasant to think that the water coming out of the taps has been reprocessed from sewage 🤢 Added to this, it carries chemicals like fluoride, chlorine and cobalt.

Because of this, more people are choosing to add filters to their water to guarantee its purity. A lot of people put small filters under the kitchen sink to do this. 😩Water tanks have shot up in price, thanks to the water shortage. We’ve had a bit of rain recently, but with the dry months approaching, a lot of people are facing water restrictions.

👉 Some Aucklanders will see the water being turned off during work hours (9-5). For others pressure will be reduced. This tough reality has led more and more people to try to become self-sufficient when it comes to water, which means installing tanks.

This increased demand has meant small water tanks have gone from $100 to $250. At this price, it is actually becoming cheaper to buy purpose-made tanks rather than these pre-made ones.

The Auckland water authority is increasingly recycling water, in part because of the current shortage, which means water can be used up to 8x before it is disposed of. This means that more and more people are choosing to install filters on their water supply.
💦 We've had so much demand for this service that we've sourced special filtration units, starting from $120, that can cover your entire household water supply for a similar price to the old filters that used to be put on your kitchen sink.

Now that we're coming into Summer, people have started to get to those maintenance jobs around the house that they've been putting off. That means we've had a lot of calls from people who want to sort out their drains, spouts and guttering.
👉 We can do anything related to these parts of the house, including unblocking and replacing drains, as well as fixing spouting and gutters. If we're doing this sort of work, it's also a good idea to get your roof leaks sorted out and even have your hot water cylinders checked.
🚿 Cylinders don't usually last longer than 10 years, so if you've never had yours checked, it's worth doing. Also worth thinking about, are water tanks to guarantee your supply as we move into the dryer months. We have new tanks with a small blue box outside the unit that contains the pump. This pressurises the water, so you can flush your toilets or water your garden from the tank.
