Box Studio Box™ is New Zealand's No.1 Integrated Design and Construction Team Equal part architect, equal part builder. Builders who design, designers who build.

We are architects and designers as well as builders. All rolled into one. This was the seed of Box. A belief that the best way to produce liveable and loveable homes was through builders, designers and customers working together, not against one another. Project success comes through an understanding, appreciation and trust of each other’s expertise. This results in great design – part of which is understanding how things get built. Builders and designers working together also leads to a unique company culture. We have designed the way we work on the notion that all projects tend to go really well until the cost gets in the way. As a result, we take our customers through what we believe to be an industry-leading process: the successful dance of design flair, construction knowledge and budget guidance. Wherever your site is in New Zealand, Box Studio can work with you to create a home that responds to its place, your needs and the way you want to live.

When it comes to building, Box Build has its own team of experienced builders covering the Greater Auckland area through to Mangawhai.

For projects further afield, we can help find the right local builder and work closely with them throughout the build. This means you can benefit from the same level of design thinking, building experience and quality, wherever you are in New Zealand.

Our clients inspire us.

They bring their ideas, experiences and ways of living and challenge us to think differently.

We listen, question, share our experience and explore what’s possible together. Because the best homes aren’t simply designed for our clients.
They’re designed with them.

Have an idea for your home? Let’s start a conversation.

This home already had the location and years of memories for a growing family. It just needed to evolve with them.

We created a whole new living experience, opening up the home with a new kitchen, living and dining area designed around the way the family wanted to live.

Sometimes you don’t need a new address. You just need a home that works better for you.

Thinking about transforming your home? Let’s talk.

First impressions start at the front door.

Over the past couple of years, we’ve designed some very different ways to welcome you home - from bold architectural statements to quiet, understated entrances that blend beautifully into their surroundings.

No two homes are the same, and neither should their entrances be.

Here are a few of our favourite welcoming entrances from recent Box projects.

Which one would you choose?

Five homes. Five briefs. Five completely different responses.

After almost 15 years and 400+ homes across Aotearoa, we know one thing: great design starts with the people and the place.

From a coastal Waiheke retreat to a treetop home, a transformed 1930s bungalow and a reimagined mid-century classic - each of these homes began with a different story, challenge and way of living.

No two are the same. And that’s exactly how we like it.

Your ideas. Our experience.

Together, creating homes that are considered, individual and made to last.

We’re thrilled that Box Studio and Box Build have taken home 2 Golds at this year’s Master Builders House of the Year Awards.

These awards are a recognition of the design thinking, craftsmanship and collaboration that goes into creating exceptional homes, from the first sketch through to the final detail.

But above all, we’re incredibly grateful to our clients for trusting us with their homes and for allowing us to enter these two very special projects into the awards.

Every home begins with a vision. It’s our job to listen, challenge, refine and bring that vision to life - creating homes that are not only beautiful, but thoughtfully designed around the people who live in them.

A huge thank you to our architects, designers, builders, subcontractors and everyone behind the scenes who helped bring these projects together.
And of course, congratulations to our clients. These Golds are yours too.

Can you actually build it, on your site, for your budget?

The Box Sprint is a fast, focused feasibility and concept design package. In a few short weeks you'll know what's possible, what it's likely to cost, and where the gotchas are, before you commit to a full design process.

Box Sprint - WHO IT'S FOR?

Sprint is built for people who are almost ready.

1. YOU'VE GOT A SITE
Bought it, inherited it, lived on it for twenty years, and you want to know what it can actually take.

2. YOU'VE GOT AN IDEA
A renovation, a new build, a granny flat, a subdivision, and you need someone to pressure-test it.

3. YOU'VE GOT A BRIEF
Even just a Pinterest board and a budget number, and you want a clear next step before you spend serious money.

To Book a Sprint go to box.co.nz
