After 10 long years another Auckland Landmark has been completed by Architectural Metalformers.

The completion of the custom coloured and textured Stainless Steel at Auckland's AOTEA Centre marks the end of the longest running Project in our history, which adds to the list of large Commercial Projects that our business can look back on with pride for years to come. Completed with over 3,000 hand made panels and installed over an extruded rail system rather than a fully supported substrate, the AOTEA Centre's design, fabrication and installation was one of the most complex in our history, however the result provides the next generation of our staff with a large amount of pride and us an ability reflect on the huge effort for everyone involved over the decade.

Many thanks to all involved.

Check out this stunning renovation recently featured in Archipro. The architect and clients chose Smart Tray Standing Seam cladding and capping in 0.90mm Alumigard Black to provide years of protection. The mix of materials has refreshed this house to an extremely high standard which we hope the owners will enjoy for many years to come.

There are many things about the 1980s that deserve to be celebrated; the music, the movies, the hair, the larger-than-life fashions. However, there are also some not quit

Great to see recognition for such a historical building. The NZ Institute of Architects awarded the Saint Patrick’s Presbytery – Seismic Upgrade + Refurbishment the Heritage award at the NZIA Auckland awards.
AMF were proud to work on the rainwater for this iconic building.

The upgrade and refurbishment of Saint Patrick’s Presbytery is as serene as a prayer. Home to cathedral priests since 1888, this category 1 heritage-listed building presented a puzzle that the architects worked through methodically. Lowered ceilings from the 1970s were redesigned to admit light an...

“We knew from the outset that we were going to have a standing seam/timber combination but the choice around the colour and profile was decided on during construction. The juxtaposition of the white steel against the variable width cedar is, in my opinion, one of the visual successes of the project and sets up an element of intrigue right from that first glimpse.” Brad Bonnington - Architect

Check out the Archipro's feature on St Marys Bay House. This home was a winner in the 2018 NZIA Auckland Architecture Award.
Externally, materials were chosen on the basis of appearance and durability and the council-imposed requirement to go some way to integrating the new building into its historic context, says Robin.

“However, the tray roof cladding wrapping over the building and folding down the southern elevation clearly identifies the building as new"
