Last week’s NZIQS Conference 2026 was a great opportunity to step away from the day-to-day and connect with quantity surveying professionals from across the country.

A particular highlight was seeing our own Syranda Yukel take the stage as a conference speaker, sharing her knowledge and expertise with fellow professionals. Watching her share her insights with industry peers was a proud moment for the White Associates team.

Events like these provide a valuable opportunity to connect, learn and contribute to conversations shaping the future of the quantity surveying and construction industries.

Happy 6th Birthday to Our Queenstown Office!

Six years ago, we expanded into Queenstown with the goal of strengthening our presence in the South Island and being closer to the clients and regions we support. Since then, our Queenstown office has grown into an key part of our team.

Shoutout to our awesome QT team, your hard work, consistency, and care for our clients and projects make a huge difference every day. Thanks for continuing to help us build such a strong presence in the region. Here’s to many more years of doing great work from one of the best spots in Aotearoa. 💛🏔️

As 2025 draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank our incredible clients, partners, suppliers and team for making this year such a success. Your trust and support have been the foundation of everything we’ve achieved, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

It has been a year of welcoming new people, hard work, collaboration and milestones reached.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with joy, rest, and new opportunities. We look forward to reconnecting in 2026 and continuing to build great things together!

On Tuesday, our team gathered for our Christmas and end-of-year celebration with a game of lawn bowls.

It was more than just a social event though, it was a moment to reflect, connect, and honour the memory of our colleague and friend, Paul Crockett.

We wore jeans and black t-shirts as a tribute to Paul, whose birthday is tomorrow, December 12. This choice wasn’t random, black t-shirts and jeans were Paul’s staple look, the outfit you’d see him in almost every day no matter the occasion. It felt like the perfect way to represent his easy-going style and keep his presence close during our celebration.

Paul was a mentor and a guiding presence in our team he was always ready with practical advice and thoughtful lists to help new staff find their feet. His passing earlier this year left a deep void, but his influence continues to shape who we are.

Yesterday reminded us that while we celebrate the season and our achievements, we also celebrate the people who make our team what it is. Paul will always be part of our story, and we carry his memory forward with respect and love.

Florence joined White Associates in 2020, right in the mix of Covid-19, and took it all in her stride. From day one she became the steadying force in our Bank Funding team, making sure work stayed organised, calm, and on track even when the environment around us was anything but.

Over five years, she’s grown into a pivotal team anchor by ensuring deliverables move smoothly through our systems and out to clients.

She brings positivity, professionalism, and a genuine care for the people around her. She’s the trusted teammate who notices details others miss, steps in before bottlenecks form, and looks for better ways to do things so we can deliver with confidence.

We’re lucky to have Florence as part of our team and excited to watch her keep thriving. Congratulations on reaching your incredible five‑year milestone. Thank you for everything you do.

We had the privilege of presenting Auckland City Mission with a $5,254 donation. Thank you to Jared Thomas for helping make this happen with the Insurance for Good initiative, it has been a great experience from start to finish. We have improved our insurance cover, reduced costs and been able to support an amazing charitable trust.

When given the opportunity to choose a charity, Auckland City Mission was an easy and heartfelt decision for us at White Associates.

This cause is close to our hearts because our involvement with the Mission dates back over 15 years, to the very inception of this project. From those early days to the thriving initiative it has become, we’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible impact it has had on the Auckland community. Seeing lives changed and support extended to those who need it most has been humbling and inspiring.

Our contribution reflects not only our gratitude for the Mission’s work but also our commitment to supporting projects that make a real difference. We hope this donation helps Auckland City Mission continue its vital services, providing food, shelter, and care to those in need.
