FOREMAN OPERATOR WANTED – Forestry Mulching/Land Clearance/Excavator Operator
Mulching & Operating Services is looking for an experienced Foreman Operator to join our growing operation.
This is a hands-on senior operator role, with forestry mulching as the primary work and excavator operation as a secondary part of the role.
THE ROLE
• Operate large Tractors and forestry mulching/Stump Grinding Equipment
• Lead and coordinate jobs on site
• Forestry mulching, land clearance and vegetation management
• Operate excavators up to 2.5–36 tonne when required
• Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
• Take responsibility for machinery, attachments and site equipment
• Daily servicing, greasing, inspections and preventative maintenance
• Identify faults and organise repairs when required
• Keep plant clean, maintained and ready for work
• Work independently and manage the day-to-day running of jobs
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Proven tractor or excavator experience is essential.
Previous leading hand or foreman experience is highly advantageous.
No previous mulching experience required — we can train the right operator in the mulching side of the job.
We’re looking for someone who:
• Is a confident and capable heavy machinery operator
• Has strong mechanical knowledge and takes pride in maintaining plant
• Can lead by example and take ownership of a job
• Is reliable, practical and self-motivated
• Can work independently without constant supervision
• Understands production, efficiency and machine care
• Is prepared to travel throughout the South Island
• Class 4 or 5 licence – advantageous
