At Laser Electrical Gisborne we are proud to support this event for yet another year and look forward to seeing everyone bright and early tomorrow morning ready to go 🏃♂️ 🏃♀️
We're excited to see you tomorrow! Please read the info below as it contains important info to help you have a fun and safe event! But most of all, have fun!
Health & Safety
⚠️ Look out for yourself on the course. It's mostly flat and even, but there are occasional areas of uneven terrain.
⚠️ When you make your way off the stop bank track and enter the last 800m along Riverpoint Road to Matawhero Winery, please remove your earbuds/headphones if you're using them and run or walk on the far right side of the road. Do not run side-by-side or as a group down the middle of the road. Listen for cars coming up behind you and move to the side so that they can safely pass you.
⚠️ BYO race cup or drink bottle, as well as fuel, race gels, lollies that you've been training with. Aid stations are on the course, stocked with water, chippies, lollies, and fruit.
⚠️Let a Harriers Club Volunteer know if you have to pull out of the race. Or if you cannot attend after Friday's race pick-up, please message us on facebook. If you don't cross the finish line, we assume you are somewhere on the course and will go looking for you.
Here's some more important info:
👟 Carpooling is a great idea! Parking is limited.
👟 Please leave Fido at home. This event crosses working farms and starts and finishes at Matawhero Winery. There are no dogs allowed, even those on lead and the best behaved dogs. Thanks for your understanding!
👟Please be sun smart. Slip, slap, & slop. Please apply sunscreen before you leave home and make use of our re-apply supply, kindly donated by Cancer Society Gisborne East Coast.
👟Note the start times: 21km Walkers start at 8am, everyone else at 9am.
👟Please arrive at 7:30am if you are registering on the day. Exact cash is appreciated.
👟When queuing up at the start, please position yourself according to your likely pace: racers up the front, walkers at the back and fast/med/slower paces in there accordingly.
👟 Have fun!!!
