Fisher Windows Wellington We manufacture, supply and install quality Aluminium Windows and Doors to the Wellington and Kapiti areas. Hi, I'm Russ. I love houses and I love improving them.

I’ve been in the building industry since 1995 and it has been quite a journey. I started out working alongside my father for 10 years before moving into a Contracts Manager role at Boyd Windows in Paraparaumu. While there I kept my hands busy with installations and that’s where I first met JT, who is now our Production Manager at Fisher Windows. When the global financial crisis hit Boyd Windows cl

osed and I returned to building full time. On the side I started helping Fisher Windows Wellington with installations on Saturdays. In 2020 I officially joined the team as a Sales Representative while still rolling up my sleeves for installations. Not long after in 2021 my business partner and I bought Fisher Windows Wellington, and in 2024 I became the sole owner. What keeps me passionate about this work is simple. There is nothing more rewarding than walking into someone’s home and finding solutions to their heating, lighting, or access challenges. My background in both building and installation gives me a strong foundation to understand what people really need and how to make it happen for them. At the end of the day it is about creating homes that feel warmer, brighter, and easier to live in and that is why I love what I do.

Great progress continues at our Otaihanga project! 🏡✨

The new window has now been carefully positioned and tacked into place, ready for glazing.

With different cladding types meeting on either side of the window, it's important that we get the fixing details right. We're taking the right steps to ensure the window is securely installed and properly supported, creating a strong, durable finish that will perform well for years to come.

More great progress at our Otaihanga project! 🏡✨

We've now installed the sill pan and head flashing, and we're ready for the next big milestone: fitting the new window into place. These critical weatherproofing details help ensure any moisture is directed safely away from the building, protecting the home and helping the new joinery perform for years to come.

Getting these preparation stages right is just as important as the installation itself.

Another exciting step forward at our Otaihanga project! 🏡✨

With the new bifold windows installed and the bay window now complete, it's time to remove the next set of old windows. As we've opened things up, we've uncovered rotten frames and sills that will also be replaced to ensure everything is structurally sound and built to last.

Renovations often reveal hidden issues, but taking the time to replace these components properly is what ensures a quality finish and long-term performance. It's all part of transforming this home with new windows that not only look great but provide lasting value.

For this stage of the project, we've removed the old door that connected the living area to the deck and are now preparing the opening for a brand-new 5-panel bifold door installation by removing the old fittings.

This is the first stage of a large project we're currently working on. For this part, we're replacing one of the existing windows and lowering it to better suit the space and improve functionality, and most importantly, ensuring all details are included 😉
