I went to a residential jobsite this week ( not a Morgan Dunn jobsite) , they laughed at my safety vest 🦺 and I was taken back by that, maybe it’s lack of understanding. OSHA doesn’t care if you are small or just staring out in the business you need a safety policy and you need to enforce it. Or you will be fined
🦺 PPE ISN’T OPTIONAL. IT’S PART OF THE JOB.
On a construction site, Personal Protective Equipment is often the last line of defense between a routine workday and a serious injury.
Hard hats. Safety glasses. High-visibility vests. Proper footwear. Gloves. Hearing and respiratory protection when the work requires it.
And there’s another reason contractors need to take safety seriously: OSHA violations can get expensive quickly.
For 2026, federal OSHA maximum penalties include:
⚠️ Serious violation: up to $16,550 per violation
⚠️ Other-than-serious violation: up to $16,550 per violation
🚨 Willful or repeated violation: up to $165,514 per violation
⏰ Failure to abate: up to $16,550 PER DAY beyond the abatement date
But the biggest cost of ignoring PPE isn’t the citation.
It’s the possibility that someone doesn’t go home the same way they came to work.
At Morgan Dunn Construction, safety is everyone’s responsibility. If you see something unsafe, say something. If PPE is required, wear it. And if someone on your crew isn’t protected, speak up.
A schedule can be recovered. Money can be replaced. People cannot.
