School’s back. Summer isn’t over. And neither is pool care. ☀️💦
Alabama heat doesn’t care what the school calendar says!

August and September can bring some of our hottest pool water of the year — and warm water. afternoon storms mean your pool still needs regular attention.

* Keep your sanitizer up!
* Keep that pump running!
* Don’t skip your weekly maintenance!
* Bring us a water sample before you have a green-pool emergency!

Most importantly, let those kiddos jump in the pool after a long, very hot day at school!

Keep swimming. Keep treating. Keep it clear.

🌧️ Why is everyone's pool suddenly being so... dramatic?

Probably because we live in the South, y'all! One minute it's sunshine...the next it's like Noah just floated by.

If your pool has suddenly turned cloudy, green, or just isn't acting like itself, you're definitely not alone.

Here's what's happening...in Southern terms.

Imagine making a gallon of sweet tea.

Now pour another gallon of plain water into it.

Did the sugar disappear?

Nope.

It just got diluted.

That's exactly what happens to your pool after a lot of rain.

Your sanitizer (chlorine, the salt that produces chlorine, or Baquacil® sanitizer) didn't magically disappear—it may have become diluted enough that it can't keep up with everything the rain brought with it.

And rain doesn't just add water...

It also brings pollen, dirt, leaves, and other organic debris that your sanitizer has to work overtime to destroy. So after a stretch of heavy rain, your pool can quickly fall behind if it isn't rebalanced.

If your pH or stabilizer (CYA) gets out of range, your sanitizer can't work as efficiently. Low CYA allows sunlight to burn through chlorine much faster, while improper pH reduces its effectiveness.

Once sanitizer gets too low, algae gets its opportunity.

By the time your pool turns cloudy or green, algae has usually been growing for a while—you just couldn't see it yet!!

Now let's talk about phosphates...

Think of phosphates as fertilizer and sanitizer as w**d killer.

You can have fertilizer on your lawn all day long, but if you're consistently spraying w**d killer, w**ds don't have much of a chance.

Stop spraying the w**d killer...
..and suddenly all that fertilizer starts helping the w**ds grow.

That's exactly how phosphates work in a pool.

Phosphates don't cause algae. They're simply a food source. Once sanitizer falls behind, phosphates can help algae grow much faster.

In most pools, maintaining the proper sanitizer level is far more important than chasing phosphate numbers.

The good news? Most pool problems can be corrected before they become expensive headaches.

Sometimes it's not just one issue. Heavy rain can throw several parts of your water chemistry out of balance at the same time—that's why professional water testing is so valuable.

Bring us a 16-ounce water sample in a clean containe ( go elbow deep!), and we'll test your water, explain exactly what's going on, and recommend only what your pool actually needs. No guessing required.
