People usually only care about how the finished slab looks when we finally pull the wooden forms off. But honestly? The most important part of our job happens before a single drop of concrete ever hits the dirt.
Getting the ground graded perfectly and tying down a tight rebar grid is what actually stops a foundation from cracking when the Texas soil inevitably shifts. It’s definitely not the glamorous part of the job, and it means a lot of early mornings and muddy boots for the crew. But it’s the only way I can sleep at night, knowing we built something that’s going to hold up.
Just wanted to share a quick behind-the-scenes look at the guys getting an early start this week. Have a great day out there!
