Batterman and Co., Inc. (Batterman), is a full-service engineering, planning, and surveying firm. Our team of dedicated professionals has successfully completed numerous projects over the years serving our valued state, municipal and private sector clients in the Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois areas. Projects we work on include urban reconstruction projects, rural highways, interstate in

terchanges, roadway rehabilitation, roadway widening, turn lanes, culvert replacement/upgrades, drainage structure replacements, small bridge designs, hydraulics and hydrology projects, realignments, erosion control, traffic management, intersection upgrades, multimodal facilities, wetland delineation, and wetland mitigation. Many projects have been for local units of government (cities, villages, townships, and county agencies) and others have been coordinated through WisDOT. In addition to previous WisDOT design, Batterman has also provided construction management services to WisDOT for over 20 years.

Caryn is an expert in her field and has led numerous Civil 3D training sessions, including a highly rated “Tips and Tricks” session at last year’s ACEC-WI Civil 3D Workshop.

Today, we celebrate DeWayne Manon as he marks his 26th anniversary with Batterman's survey crew! As a senior project surveyor, DeWayne has certainly experienced and learned a lot as the industry has evolved over the past 26 years. Most notable, however, is the positive impact he has made in helping Batterman's survey department continue to grow and thrive.

We’re heading back to campus this September!

Batterman is excited to attend upcoming college career fairs at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). We always look forward to meeting bright future engineers and learning more about their goals, interests, and ideas for the future.

We’re also looking forward to sharing more about the opportunities we have at Batterman and the culture that makes our firm a great place to grow—one built on teamwork, mentorship, continuous learning, clear communication, and a shared commitment to improving the communities we serve.

As summer comes to an end, we also bid farewell to our outstanding summer interns. Yesterday, we held our annual Battermentorship celebration to acknowledge the incredible contributions made by our interns, mentors, trainers, and department leads throughout another remarkable internship season. Mentoring the next generation of surveyors and engineers is always a rewarding experience, and we take care in helping prepare them for successful careers ahead.

We wish our interns the best as they return to school this fall, and we look forward to the possibility of working with you again in the future!

We were honored to join the City of Beloit at Monday evening’s City Council meeting as the 80–100 E. Grand Avenue Riverwalk Extension project received a National Recognition Award from the ACEC (American Council of Engineering Companies).

Frank McKearn, Batterman’s President, presented the award to the City in celebration of this meaningful downtown riverfront project, which expanded the riverwalk and helped improve access, safety, and future development opportunities along the Rock River.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with the City of Beloit on a project that reflects the power of collaboration, thoughtful engineering, and long-term community investment.

Congratulations to the City of Beloit and everyone involved in bringing this project to life!

It's National Intern Day! We want to give a big shout-out to all of our dedicated interns in our Battermentorship program who have spent their summer with us. Their hard work has made a meaningful impact on our survey, civil design, and construction inspection projects while helping them grow their skills and knowledge for their future careers.

A special highlight of this year's internship season was that Nicholas Allbee, our first intern from the Rock Internship Program, was invited to speak at the program's graduation ceremony about his success. This was Nicholas' fourth summer as an intern working with our design team.

We look forward to continuing our mentorship with our interns as they head back to school this fall and to the exciting possibilities of working together again in the future!
