⁉ GOT MOLD ⁉ READ ON...🎃
People usually think of mold when their basement floods, have a roof or plumbing leak, or they see discoloration on drywall or paneling under windows or basement walls.
Mold is a normal part of life, but when it starts growing indoors, it can cause all sorts of health issues and problems with your home.

Bena Services has encountered all sorts of mold in homes throughout the years, and there are ways to treat it depending on the cause. Maybe that neat old chair you bought at a yard sale smells a little mildewy but is covered in mold you cannot see. Or maybe an old plumbing leak that was fixed but the mold started small and has now grown to a point where it needs treated and removed.
Sometimes smaller areas can be cleaned and treated. Other times, drywall, paneling, or wet cardboard boxes need carefully removed, and the areas where they sat need professionally treated. The important thing is finding what caused the mold in the first place.
The pictures shown are from a recent mold job that probably started with a sink or toilet overflowing, or maybe a sump pump being unplugged. After everything dried out, no one worried about it. But the drop ceiling and plywood behind it had mold growing like a plant, and the room next to it had started growing mold on the open joists!
Fortunately, this was a fairly easy problem to remediate for the homeowner, and now the home smells and feels like it should!
Suspect mold? If it’s easily seen, you may not need to spend $500 on an air test before having it treated. But if you can’t find it, air testing in different rooms may help identify areas that need further investigation.
