Another deck completed! Homeowner demoed the deck boards. We decided the floor joist needed to be replaced also. Then some repair work. Rebuilt. Closed in the lower section for storage and a nice fancy door set the Aluminum posts and top rail for the cable railing. He wanted to do the cable wire himself helped with the first 3 rows.

Some decks need a little more pampering than others before you get started !!! No flashing anywhere. The 2 pieces of flashing that was there was just to protect the foam and the lower T11 but the block wall was behind it.

It’s that time of year again!! As we are getting into fall season and temperatures are getting colder don’t for get to disconnect you hose from the spicket!! You don’t want that to freeze back and break your plumbing and then you have a big mess !! If you are using those quick disconnects take the one off on the spicket too. It has to be completely open so it drips out all the water.

It’s that time of year the leaves are falling!! Are your gutters covered ?? Who likes to clean out the gutters ?? NO ONE!! Get them covered !! Not expensive and never get on that ladder ever again !!

We remodeled this deck earlier this summer and they had us come back and add the handrails 2 benches and 2 sections of a Decorator wall.

Deck DONE !!! Only 90 total hours !! Not bad for an old guy with a saw!!

Seriously you can't find good help!!! LOL !! So I had to install 6 sections of handrailing got to the last one and put on all the brackets. Grabbed the bottom rail and got it marked out. Pulled out the top rail to match it and mark it out. I always match up the center little hole then match a few baluster holes and I was like where is the little hole ?? Oh they forgot it?? I will drill out my own hole. Then I was like wait the top rail baluster holes are bigger !!!! Not sure how this even could happen! The top rail is for stair railing and the bottom rail(what I needed) is for the horizontal rail !!! New and a sealed box !!! Wow I was not happy !! I would have been done !!! Now got to go to the lumber yard again !!!
