So, about those eggs from Thursday...

There were a total of 11 eggs. 3 didnt look so good so they were discarded but I put 8 in the incubator for kicks and giggles.
Six more eggs have hatched since my last post.
One wasn't thriving well so I stuck it under a broody hen and we'll see what happens.
Another was late to the party and just hatched today.
The other six, however, are currently living in my home office because I had no expectations of having new chicks this week.
I really need to get and keep the C.H.I.C.U. set up for moments just like this...

This afternoon I found a random pile of eggs up against our house, where we usually put our trashcans. They were all very warm, but I have no idea how long they had been there (at least 11 days because there were 11 eggs). So I brought them im the house to see if they were any good, and when I candled them SOME HAD MOVING BABIES INSIDE!
Im not getting my hopes up, but I stuck them in the incubator (which was already up and running with 3 eggs in it) and I guess we'll wait and see what happens?

Liam is a very happy Chicken Tender today as he welcomed 4 new silkies to the PFF!
They came with names, but Liam is calling the brown hen Cocoa, the second one in the pictures is a new rooster named Hiccup then we have Liam's favorite, a sweet white hen we are calling Lightfury Linda.
With them came a very tiny special sweetheart, our first crossbeak that we have named Beaker Beaker!!
They ve had a lot of love and cuddles before they settled comfortably in the newly-reinforced Fluffy Butt Hut.
