How to make a Cape-style home feel more open and modernized, without sacrificing character.

Opening up the staircase wall allowed for more natural light to flow, and blend the living room with the kitchen without going full open concept.

We upgraded to new bigger windows to let in more light, and converted the fireplace to electric. On that same wall, we designed custom built-in shelving for extra storage, and painted it in a stunning deep green paint color. (Vintage Vogue by Benjamin Moore)

We gave this home a whole new identity, and put an addition on the front of the house to extend the entryway, which allowed us to add a front closet and built-in storage for a mudroom area.

But that’s not all with this project. We completely transformed every single space, creating their absolute dream home.

Absolutely love these how these custom cedar shutters turned out! We paired them with white siding and black windows on this farmhouse-inspired new construction.

We get tons of questions on these glass globe pendant lights, they’re the perfect fixture for above the kitchen island.

We chose them for this project because the black metal detailing matches with all of the hardware in this space, and the globes are the perfect size with a diameter of about 11 inches.

Laundry folding counters were important to our client, in addition to storage, and open space to bring in a freestanding clothes rack.

The layout of the room had this little nook in the corner, which was the perfect size for us to add this gorgeous hammered copper farmhouse sink.
