not all tile leveling systems are created equal. 😂🔨

When you're installing large-format tile, keeping neighboring tiles sitting evenly with each other is a BIG part of getting that clean finished look.

Brad's preference?

The wedge-style leveling clips.

The clip sits at the grout joint, and the wedge pushes through it in one direction to help bring the adjoining tiles into alignment.

Brad likes that straight, one-directional movement because you're not introducing a twisting motion right at the edge of freshly positioned tile.

Compare that with some twist-style leveling systems, where you rotate the cap to tighten everything down.

Brad's concern?

You're literally twisting something against the tile you're trying NOT to move. 😂

That doesn't mean twist systems can't work when they're used correctly. Plenty of installers use different leveling systems successfully.

Brad just prefers the wedge.

Push.

Tighten.

Level.

And please stop moving the tile we JUST spent ten minutes getting perfect. 😂

Your hardwood needs to move into the house BEFORE it officially moves into the house. 😂🪵

Before hardwood flooring gets installed, Brad wants it sitting inside the conditioned space first.

Why?

Because wood reacts to its environment.

Changes in temperature and, importantly, moisture and humidity can cause wood flooring to expand or contract.

On this project, the flooring came all the way from Spain and had been stored for a couple of months.

Brad definitely doesn't want to pull it out of storage and immediately start laying it down.

Instead, it gets brought into the house with the AC running and given time to acclimate to the conditions where it will actually live.

Brad typically wants at least 24 hours, preferably 48, for this particular flooring and project—but actual acclimation requirements can vary by flooring product and manufacturer.

The goal is simple:

Let the wood do its moving BEFORE you install it. 😂

Because movement beforehand?

Fine.

Movement after you've installed an entire beautiful hardwood floor?

That's when everybody gets considerably less excited.

At what height do these stop being stilts and become a SECOND STORY?! 😂😳

This guy from Drywall Wizards LLC is walking around on some of the tallest drywall stilts Brad has ever seen.

Brad's estimate?

He looks about 20 FEET in the air.

And somehow, that's not even the craziest part.

Look at how casually he's moving around.

No hesitation.

No panic.

Just:

“Yep, another day at work.” 😂

Meanwhile, most people would get three steps up a ladder and suddenly develop a very serious relationship with whatever they're holding onto.

Drywall stilts already require balance and experience.

These?

Brad's getting nervous just WATCHING. 😂

The confidence is impressive.

The skill is impressive.

And the fact that this guy is acting like he's strolling through the grocery store?

Absolutely insane. 👏

The setup had everything.

A guy making a beautiful cut through concrete with a demo saw.

A mask. ✔️

Shoes?

Apparently optional. 😂🦶

And with millions of views, Brad is sitting there waiting for the commentary to absolutely deliver.

There’s even a line about senior citizens still serving a purpose despite being “slow and dangerous on the road.”

Okay…

Now Brad’s expecting the BIG finish.

The fire line.

The joke that explains why millions of people watched this thing.

And then...

Nothing. 😂

Brad's final review?

The concrete cut was nice.

The barefoot saw operation certainly got his attention.

But the comedy?

WAY less funny than this video had the potential to be.

Sometimes the internet gives you comedy gold.

Sometimes it hands you all the ingredients and forgets to cook. 😂

We invented the miter saw for a reason. 😂🪚

Somebody decided they needed a precise cut.

Normal solution?

Grab a chop saw.

This solution?

Suspend a CHAINSAW ON A STRING and apparently reinvent woodworking from scratch. 😂

Brad is not impressed.

Sure, it's creative. And yes, it's interesting to watch.

But if the goal is simply making controlled, repeatable cuts, Brad can't understand why we're building an elaborate chainsaw contraption when saws designed specifically for that job already exist.

A circular saw is another much simpler option for plenty of cuts.

It's relatively inexpensive.

It runs on electricity or a rechargeable battery.

And you don't need to keep feeding it two-stroke fuel just to cut lumber.

Brad's construction philosophy on this one:

If the wheel already works, we don't need to replace it with a chainsaw hanging from a rope. 😂

Wet saw = clean job site. Wet Brad = unfortunate side effect. 😂💦

When you're cutting tile, you have options.

You could use a grinder.

A circular saw with the appropriate blade.

Other suitable tile-cutting tools.

But there's one thing dry cutting tends to produce really well:

DUST. A LOT OF DUST. 😳

That's one of the big advantages of a wet saw.

Water continuously hits the blade and cutting area, helping control the dust while also giving the installer a setup capable of making clean, accurate cuts.

The downside?

The water has to go somewhere.

And apparently that somewhere is:

ALL OVER THE PERSON USING IT. 😂

So you finish the cut soaking wet...

But the surrounding job site isn't covered in a giant cloud of tile dust.

Brad will take that trade.

Especially because controlling silica-containing dust from tile and masonry isn't just about keeping things clean—it's also an important job-site safety consideration.

Scaffolding is basically adult LEGOs that you’re allowed to stand on. 😂🏗️

Scaffolding looks complicated when you see it wrapped around a building, but the basic setup comes down to a handful of major components.

You've got the end frames.

The cross braces connecting everything together.

The walk planks creating the working platform.

And one part Brad says people sometimes forget about:

The leveling feet.

Those adjustable feet help get the scaffold properly supported and level instead of having everybody working from a platform that feels like a carnival ride. 😂

And while you may see people throw ordinary lumber across scaffolding, Brad prefers purpose-built scaffold planks designed for the application.

The coolest part?

These sections can connect and stack, which is how you go from one working level to something like the two-story setup on this project.

Simple components.

Quick setup.

Reusable.

And incredibly useful when you need to work safely at height.

Just don't let the “adult LEGOs” comparison convince you to freestyle the assembly. 😂

When you pay for a waterfront view, you probably don’t want your RAILING to be the main attraction. 😂🌊

That’s exactly why this home is getting a glass railing system.

The goal is simple:

Keep the necessary barrier around the outdoor space without blocking that beautiful waterfront view.

But before any glass shows up, the hardware has to go in first.

Small mounting brackets are positioned and secured into the concrete slab with Tapcon screws, then protective covers are placed over the hardware.

And THEN they measure for glass.

Why not order it beforehand?

Because glass isn't exactly the material you want to say:

“Eh… close enough.” 😂

Once the actual brackets are installed, precise field measurements can be taken from their final positions. The glass panels are then custom fabricated to fit those measurements.

Hardware first.

Measure second.

Custom glass third.

Uninterrupted waterfront views forever after. 🌊👏

THIS is what it looks like when somebody has completely mastered their tool. 😳👏

Forget getting close to the line.

This guy is cutting RIGHT. ON. IT.

The accuracy is so good Brad calls it a work of art.

No wandering.

No giant margin for error.

No “we’ll clean it up afterward.” 😂

Just ridiculous control from beginning to end.

Brad even points out that he knows people who couldn't follow a line this accurately with a circular saw.

And that's what makes skilled trade work so satisfying to watch.

The tool isn't doing the impressive part.

The person controlling it is.

Anybody can buy a great tool.

Getting THIS good with it?

That takes practice.

Nothing but respect. 👏

The longer you stare at this plumbing, the more crimes you discover. 😂🚿

At first glance, you know something isn't quite right.

Then you look closer.

Oh. It gets worse.

We're underneath a tub, and somehow we've got a push-fit fitting, enough strapping to restrain a wild animal, pipe insulation doing jobs it definitely didn't apply for…

And then:

Is that a PAINT TRAY?! 😂

At this point, Brad gives up trying to understand the plumbing and heads straight for the comments.

And the internet did not disappoint:

“It worked fine before you got here.”

“Good use of the pipe insulation.”

“Knew I left my paint tray somewhere.”

😂😂😂

The best way to describe this installation?

It gets crazier the longer you look at it.

Every time you think you've found the weirdest part, your eyes move six inches to the left and unlock another level.

Sometimes Brad reacts to beautiful craftsmanship.

Sometimes he teaches you about plumbing.
