What started as a simple circuit breaker replacement turned into a deeper troubleshooting job.
Our customer called because a dryer circuit kept tripping, and it initially appeared that the breaker needed to be replaced. After performing a thorough diagnosis, we discovered the real problem was a failing contactor (relay) controlling the dryer circuit.
If you look closely at the photos, you'll notice the discolored connection on the right side of the contactor. That discoloration is a sign of a poor electrical connection that was generating heat and causing the issue.
This is a great example of why proper troubleshooting matters. Replacing the breaker would not have solved the problem. By finding the actual cause, we were able to make the repair quickly and get our customer back up and running with minimal downtime.
When electrical problems arise, accurate diagnosis is just as important as the repair itself!
