Before we can start a project like this, we need all of the major materials on site and ready to go. Having everything here ahead of time helps us keep the roof-off portion of the project as short as possible once construction begins.

In the next few weeks, we’ll be removing the existing roof and building a full second-story addition on this home. Follow along to see the transformation from start to finish.

These machines don’t maintain themselves. Oil change. New oil filter. New steering column. Tires filled with air. New starter( pain in the ass to get off) 🤬. Happy Monday

A little maintenance today so we’re ready for what’s next. 🔧🚜

Our all-terrain forklift got some attention before we kick off a big second-story addition project in the coming weeks. This machine plays a huge role in helping us safely and efficiently move materials on larger construction projects.

We’re excited to bring you along for this transformation from start to finish. Stay tuned—this is going to be a fun one to watch. 🏠⬆️

Back in Lancaster County wrapping up this deck build 🔨

We finished screwing down all the decking boards, built out the steps, and installed the handrails to bring the whole project together. Nothing beats seeing a job come together clean and solid at the finish.

Wood decks are a great option for homeowners looking for a more affordable build compared to composite. They do take a little more upkeep, but when done right they still look sharp—especially paired with vinyl handrails for a clean, low-maintenance finish.

If you’re going with pressure treated lumber, we always recommend waiting 4–12 weeks before staining so the wood has time to properly dry out. That’s what helps your stain actually soak in and last.

Started this deck out in Lancaster County today for a 26-year veteran.

We’re proud to be building this one for him and thankful for his years of service.

Got it laid out, dug our 3ft holes, and set them with fast-set concrete.

While that was setting, we hauled all the lumber out back and started framing.

Nailed and bolted the band board, set the girder, then locked in all the joists.

Got all the deck boards up and tacked down.

Tomorrow we’ll finish screwing everything off and knock out the steps and handrail.

Progress on this room addition is moving right along.

Today, we removed part of the existing concrete slab, excavated the new footers, installed the stone base, and set the forms.

Everything is now prepped and ready for Friday’s monolithic concrete pour, where the footers and slab will be poured together as one solid foundation.

A lot of work goes into a project before the concrete truck ever arrives, and proper preparation is what helps ensure a strong foundation for years to come.

Today’s job was all about preparation. Before we can build this new room addition, the old shed and deck had to go—and they put up a fight.
