Most people see the 10 minutes when the rooftop unit (RTU) is hanging from the crane.

What they don’t see are the weeks of coordination that make those 10 minutes go smoothly.

Crane access, site logistics, delivery timing, rigging, structural coordination, mechanical layout and sequencing all have to come together before the first RTU ever leaves the truck.

Project Sequencing 101 👷‍♂️
Commercial kitchen construction is all about installing the right scopes in the right order.
On this project, the walk-in cooler installation comes after major items like the commercial range hood and new structural support are already in place. That might look like it creates an access problem—but walk-in coolers are built differently than most people realize.
A commercial walk-in cooler is assembled from individual insulated panels, allowing the installer to bring the system into the space piece-by-piece and build it around existing walls, structural members, kitchen equipment, and other obstructions.
That panelized construction is one of the reasons proper project sequencing in a restaurant buildout matters so much. You can complete critical structural and mechanical work first without eliminating your ability to install the cooler later.
Good construction management isn’t just knowing how each scope gets built. It’s knowing when it gets built, and how every trade affects the next one.
