Chair pair resto from start to finish 🪑🪑✨️

A house fire nearly claimed this antique, quarter-sawn oak chair. Beneath the thick coating of black soot was a beautiful tiger-stripe grain pattern waiting to be restored.

There's a metaphor in here somewhere about fire and rebirth, but we'll leave that analogy for a more poetic tongue than ours. The prose of it all is that our customer was happy with our work, and that's all we could ask for.

This folding-rocker makeover included the full treatment:

✅️ removal of the old materials, down to the last staple;
✅️ a new finish;
✅️ fresh jute webbing;
✅️ cotton-topped foam padding;
✅️ a fabric of the customer's choosing;
✅️ gimp (yes, it's actually called that 😅) trim embellishments.

We love the result, and so did our customer. What do you think?

Here's a little glowup for this Louis XVI chair that came into our shop recently. What do you think? Fit for a king? 👑

Two small benches for our customer's mum. She loved 'em ☺️

Every now and then, we do one for ourselves.

This rocker came to us from a customer who, despite having strong sentimental attachment to it, was unable to find room for it in her home. She passed it along to us knowing it would be restored and appreciated. It now rocks on our porch.

We hope we did right by her. 🙏🏻 What do you think?

Lacking on the "before" pictures, but take a peek at a recent 4-piece reupholstery project we completed, which included a pair of couches and wing chairs.

This one was particularly meticulous job, given the many, MANY yards of welt, but we are so pleased with the final result, and more importantly, so was our customer!

What do you think? Do you dig the new green, or are you more of a neutral-tone fan? 🤍 ---> 💚

We are on vacation! We'll return to our regular hours on June 10th. See you then(th)!

Not nearly as dramatic of a change as other before/afters we share, but sometimes, all ya need is a refresh:

✅️ New fabric
✅ New foam
️✅️ Same vibe

This customer knows what they like.

This customer's relative, who has since passed away, handmade these barrel bar stools for his grandkids. We were honored that our customer trusted us to restore their family keepsakes. These kinds of jobs remind us why we love what we do.
