Thank you FYPA for the kind words!
Day 22 of FYPA’s “30 Days to Auditions” celebrates our second Memory Makers Sponsor of the 2026 Season, a pair of locally owned businesses whose names are synonymous with reliability, craftsmanship, and community care. Today we honor Live Wire Electric and Straight Up Doors, owned by Bev and Rod Nelson, proud sponsors of our Saturday July 31 performance of Xanadu Jr.
Bev and Rod are the kind of community members every town hopes to have, steady, generous, and always willing to lend their expertise where it is needed most. Through Live Wire Electric, they have served Fairfield and the surrounding counties for more than thirty years, earning a reputation for professionalism, honesty, and top quality work. Their service area spans Jefferson, Van Buren, Wapello, Keokuk, Henry, Des Moines, Washington, and Johnson counties, a footprint that mirrors FYPA’s own expanding regional presence. Just as Live Wire Electric and Straight Up Doors support families, farms, and businesses throughout southeast Iowa, FYPA is working to serve young performers across that same region, building a creative community that reaches far beyond Fairfield.
The reviews for Live Wire Electric speak for themselves. Customers consistently praise their punctuality, accuracy, and pride in their work. One reviewer shared that the team “listened to my ideas and shared their advice. I like that a lot.” Another wrote, “Their estimate was accurate. They were helpful, quick, thorough, and friendly. I highly recommend them.” A third noted, “You can tell they take a ton of pride in their work.”
Organizations across Fairfield echo this sentiment. Cornerstone Community Well described Live Wire as “a community minded business that excels with service,” grateful for their ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with care and expertise.
What stands out most about Bev and Rod is not only the quality of their work, but the way they show up for their community. They support local organizations, invest in local youth, and give generously of their time and resources. Their decision to join FYPA as Memory Makers Sponsors in 2026 is another example of their belief in strengthening the next generation.
FYPA is especially grateful for their support of our Saturday July 31 performance of Xanadu Jr., a night that promises joy, color, music, and a full house of families cheering on our young performers. Their sponsorship helps ensure that every child who steps onto our stage feels valued, supported, and celebrated.
When you see Bev or Rod around town, please thank them for their generosity and for the countless ways they help keep Fairfield strong. Their work lights our homes, powers our businesses, and now helps lift the voices of our young artists.
We are honored to welcome Live Wire Electric and Straight Up Doors into the FYPA family, and deeply grateful to Bev and Rod Nelson for believing in our mission and investing in the future of our performers.
