About
The owner and president, Johnny Holman, began his career in masonry by working for his uncle during the summers when he was 16 – 18 years old. Within two years, he was working side jobs with the help of a laborer, and within 5 years, he started his own business completing one project at a time. Johnny currently lives in Farmville with his wife, Melanie Holman, and their five children. Melani

Holman Masonry Inc. provides main-contractor and sub-contractor services to a wide range of companies and individuals. Our company has gained considerable experience over many years in both residential and commercial construction, whether it is a new project or existing property renovations. We provide complete construction design solutions for both private residential properties and large commercial projects in the local Farmville area, as well as surrounding areas of Chesterfield, Richmond, Lynchburg, and Hanover.

Recognize these buildings? 👀

📚 As students start their first day of classes at Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney College today, we're taking a little trip down memory lane…

What most people see: a finished building.
What we see: decades of partnership.

We've had the opportunity to work on a number of masonry projects at Hampden-Sydney College: Venable Hall, the Wilson Center, the Brown Student Center, the Carpenter dorms, and most recently, the visitor bleacher enclosure.

When you've worked with an organization for years, every project becomes part of a bigger story. We're grateful for the trust and proud to have played a role in helping shape a campus that means so much to our community.

Our crew recently wrapped up the visitor bleacher enclosure at Everett Stadium, adding another project to the list of work we've been proud to complete at Hampden-Sydney College over the years.

Good projects take good people.

Some people are part of our crew every day. Others join us when a project calls for their specialized expertise — like part-time crew member Mike Lopez who operated the excavator as we dug a trench at Hampden-Sydney College.

From preparing the jobsite to laying the final brick, every role plays an important part in keeping projects moving.

Before the first truck leaves the shop and a crew arrives onsite, there's a lot happening behind the scenes.

✅ Reviewing plans
✅Talking with customers
✅ Coordinating materials and deliveries
✅ Aligning schedules
✅ Planning for the details that keep a project moving

While our crews are building projects across Virginia, much of that preparation starts right here in Johnny’s home office.

Good work starts long before construction begins. Staying involved from start to finish helps us keep a close eye on every project, every detail and every relationship along the way.
