After servicing clients' electric gate openers and rebuilding electric gate arms for more than a decade, credentialing, undergoing vetting, and committing to certain craftspersonship and quality standards as well as extensive training, I'm pleased to announce Electrical Safety Professionals, LLC has been deemed an authorized installing dealer and service company for Ghost Controls and their sister company, Coop Controls, the country's leading manufacturers of the most reliable and durable automatic gate and poultry coop door openers supported by the industries' leading warranty programs.

Ghost Controls' company standards are incredible and they're a Florida-based company!

I'll be personally servicing Georgia and South Carolina where I hold non-restricted Electrical Contractor licenses.

I'm excited for the opportunity to provide the same high-quality service upon which my reputation has been built while designing and installing new and upgrading existing gate and door openers and their control systems.

Included will be determining clients' local requirements for fire/EMS apparatus entry and permitting new installations.

Check out Ghost Controls and Coop at www.GhostControls.com

The 2025 hurricane season is upon us and along with it can come an increased opportunity for electric power outages.

Global Power Products, a Georgia company, manufactures a UL Listed product that can assist and I'm a GenerLink Certified Installer.

This is a fantastic alternative to a $20K or more permanently installed generator and transfer switch that could cost $1K or more per year to maintain. This product requires no annual maintenance.

For a limited time, GenerLink product can be purchased at a discount and that may include free shipping. I make no commission on the product. You can order it yourself. I charge only for installing it, signing off on the warranty card as having done so, and for providing on-site training so my clients are absolutely comfortable using it.

Please note that a generator connecting cord is included and that the product is intended for 100, 150, and 200 amp electrical services. If your meter is labeled CL320, it's likely this product cannot be installed, but new product is being considered for design.

Also note that your electric utility must approve of its installation since their meter will be connected to it. Many, many electric utilities throughout the United States have approved the product, including Georgia Power, a Southern Company. GenerLink maintains a list of approved electric utilities and will work with electric utilities to obtain their approval.

I highly recommend this product and that you order the model containing built in surge protection. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Stay safe through preparedness and awareness during the 2025 hurricane season and always.

Electrical Safety Professionals, LLC is honored and pleased to have been appointed a GenerLink distributor and Certified GenerLink Installer.

GenerLink products are produced by Global Power Products, a Georgia-based company, and offer a safe, simple, very economical, and Code compliant solution for connecting a portable generator to your home's electrical system to automatically transfer electric power with the electric utility. GenerLink is approved for installation by local electric utilities Georgia Power, Coweta-Fayette EMC, and Newnan Utilities.

GenerLink products come with a 20 foot connecting cord and are available in 30 amp and 40 amp sizes, with optional transient voltage surge suppression (TVSS) protection, and in manual and automatic transfer modes. They take less than an hour to install and I'll demonstrate its use so you're comfortable and more relaxed before the next storm arrives.

Let's get your home ready before Mother Nature's next hissy fit!🙂

Earth grounding systems and effective electrical connections to them are important. They help prevent large voltage surges from entering a structure where they create loss to personnel and property and they provide a method for routing undesirable fault currents away from conductive surfaces to further protect personnel from receiving an electric shock.

Therefore, earth grounding systems should be easily accessible so they can be periodically inspected and tested, especially with all the electronics and smart cards on electrical appliances in buildings these days. Commercial and industrial projects often specify test wells for this purpose.

Recently, as I was adding transient voltage surge suppression (TVSS) protection to a client's home and teaching her why grounding systems need to be inspected and tested, she stated she wanted that capability, too.

Today, I installed her electrical grounding system inspection and test well. At only nine inches tall and 6 inches round it blends well with local landscape. I'm going to do the same thing on my own home and new shop. Furthermore, I'm going to recommend this on all new and replacement electrical services I install, when I'm installing TVSS devices, and when I'm correcting and servicing swimming pool and hydromassage spa installations.

I hope you found this useful and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me.

Hello, clients and followers.

Please take note of a major electrical recall notice fully readable at the below link. It pertains to Square D's (Schneider Electric) QO product line.

You may have one or more of the affected panelboards and load centers in your home if your circuit breakers display "QO" on them, have the little clear plastic window that will display a red flag when the breaker trips, and the panelboards and load centers are within the date ranges indicated in the recall notice.

The recall does NOT apply to Square D's Homeline product line.

Please, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.

This recall provides a good opportunity to make sure you have properly installed and functioning smoke detectors in your home.

Today is the 31st and final day of Electrical Safety Month.

Throughout May I provided some photos I’d taken when electrical systems have had a bad day and created loss. I discussed what I believed were relative, pertinent topics.

I extend to you an open invitation to contact me for discussion on any electrical safety topic for which you desire more information. I’ll gladly research as may be necessary and comment. Together, we’ll both learn. There are no electrical safety topics that are off limits and the only “dumb question” is the one that goes unasked.

I also extend my sincere appreciation for the time and consideration you may have given my posts. I hope you’ve found them valuable and that they help you live, work, and play more safely around electricity. If just one person learned and changed their behavior, then this month-long initiative has been a success.

Safety ALWAYS - Steve
