âWhat 74 Years Taught Me About Choosing the Right Remodelerâ
Iâm in my 74th year of life, and over the years Iâve been through countless remodels, renovations, repairs, and construction projects. Iâve dealt with contractors, designers, tradespeople, salespeople, and everyone in between.
Never in my life have I encountered the level of professionalism, dedication, and pride in their trade that I experienced working with the team at Allied Kitchen & Bath in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Let me explain why.
It started with a simple phone call to Allied.
Rather than immediately sending someone to my home, they invited me to visit their showroom first.
At first, I questioned it.
Why would I visit the showroom before anyone had even seen my home?
As they explained the reasoning, however, it began to make perfect sense.
If someone came to my home first, I might have based my initial impression and ultimately my decision on something as simple as priceâor on the personality or sales approach of the person sitting across from me. Perhaps their agenda would become more important than mine.
Alliedâs approach was different.
They wanted me to first understand what was possible.
Walking into their showroom opened my eyes to possibilities I hadnât even considered. I could physically see and touch the products. I could compare materials, finishes, fixtures, cabinetry, countertops, hardware, and other elements in a way that simply isnât possible from a photograph or a catalog.
The showroom displays werenât just displays. They were real-life examples of what could actually be created in my home. There were even working, live displays that allowed me to experience products rather than simply look at them.
And thatâs when I realized something important:
I couldnât make good decisions about my project until I understood my options.
Allied explained that every remodeling project begins with design.
That sounds simple, but the way they approached it was anything but simple.
The design process took into consideration my budget, my wish list, my priorities, and ultimately what I wanted the finished project to accomplish. They didnât just show me one design and tell me what I should do. They presented several concepts.
The designs included floor plans and isometric elevations, allowing me to visualize the project from different perspectives and, more importantly, understand what the finished space could actually look like.
I have to admit, that process eliminated so many of the questions, misunderstandings, and potential problems that can arise once construction begins.
By the time the project moved forward, I wasnât guessing what I was getting.
I understood it.
And that, to me, is the difference.
But there was something else I hadnât expected.
Visiting Alliedâs showroom didnât feel like walking into a business where someone was simply trying to sell me something.
It felt like visiting friends and family.
The culture was different.
The people were different.
There was a genuine sense that everyone I encountered cared about what they were doingâand cared about the experience I was having as a customer.
And that may be what impressed me most of all.
Because when youâre remodeling your home, youâre not simply buying cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures, or tile.
Youâre putting your homeâand a significant investmentâin someone elseâs hands.
You want to know that the people youâre trusting care as much about the outcome as you do.
With Allied Kitchen & Bath, I felt that from the very beginning.
