Not every slab is built the same, because they don't all carry the same thing. A patio is mostly people and furniture. A driveway carries vehicles. A shop floor needs to be flat and carry heavy loads. An ag pad carries equipment day in and day out. We build each one for its job. Comment which one you're planning.

One of the most common questions we get: when’s it dry? Concrete doesn’t actually dry. It cures, through a reaction that needs moisture, so right after finishing we help hold that moisture in. It keeps getting stronger for weeks after the pour. Most slabs can take foot traffic in a day or two, your truck should wait about a week, and full strength comes at about 28 days. We’ll let you know when yours is ready. Send this to someone who’s planning a driveway.

The truck’s on site, and the crew is out on the forms getting everything set before the pour. Every person out there has a job, and it all has to come together before the first load goes in. It’s a team effort from the dirt to the finish.

If a shop or barndo is on your list for this spring, fall is the perfect time to get the foundation done. We handle the dirt work, the pad prep and the pour, with the same crew from start to finish, so you’re ready to build your dream shop or barndo by spring. We’re booking fall jobs now. Before anything gets scheduled, we walk the site. We measure the area, check the ground for any dirt work it needs, see where the water goes when it rains, and figure out how the truck gets in. We also ask what’s going to sit on it, because that changes how it’s built. That walk is how the whole job gets planned, from the dirt work to the finish. 30,000 sq ft of new parking lot.

A commercial lot has to handle traffic every day without shutting the business down. We handled it from the dirt work up: grading, forming and pouring, while the shop stayed open around us.

Planning a parking lot or commercial pad? Call (479) 348-4155.

If you're thinking about a project, a few details make the first conversation a lot faster: what's going to sit on it, a rough size, a couple photos of the spot (especially after rain), and when you'd like it done. Send us those and we'll take it from there.

People ask about the lines in a new driveway all the time. They're not cracks. Concrete moves a little as it cures and with the seasons, and those joints give it a place to do that so it doesn't pick its own spot. It's one of those details that decides how a slab looks five years from now.
