Today marks NSPE's Professional Engineers Day. This day is a great reminder of how much PEs contribute across all industries. We think it's safe to say that every structure standing today owes its integrity to the expertise of this profession.
On this day, we'd like to celebrate Bronz Young, our VP of Product Application. Bronz has been practicing structural design since 1985. He earned his BSCE from Cal Poly Pomona and his Master of Civil Engineering from North Carolina State. Before joining VoidForm in 2024, he spent nearly three decades running his own practice, Young Engineering Services in Palm Desert, and before that was a partner at Cal West Engineering.
When asked why he chose engineering? His answer is as direct as we’ve now come to expect from someone with 38 years in the field: "I like to figure structures out and see them built."
And over the years, Bronz has mastered the toughest challenges in structural engineering:
- Seismic ✔️
- Bridges ✔️
- High-end residential ✔️
- Complex projects in seismic zones with more irregularities than most engineers want to touch ✔️
One project he's especially proud of is the Groat Point Residence in Medina, Washington. As he tells it, this was a demanding structure on a spectacular build site that pushed the limits of architect, contractor, and owner alike.
To Bronz, and to every PE who's spent their career making sure the built world holds up—thank you!
