One project, two products, and proven long-term structural protection from expansive and seismic soil.

When a large-scale healthcare facility broke ground on expansive, seismically active soil, groundwater became the defining challenge throughout the first year of foundation work.

On-site, sump pumps ran 24 hours a day, seven days a week, removing an Olympic-sized pool's worth of water from below grade daily. Paper carton forms wouldn’t hold up in conditions like this.

The City of Westminster, Colorado, has begun a years-long project to replace aging water infrastructure that serves over nine billion gallons of clean drinking water annually. The new facility, set to open in 2028, will treat up to 14.7 million gallons per day.

Meet Alan, our Director of HR and a U.S. Army veteran with over a decade of experience keeping soldiers mission-ready, and now, employees project-ready.

After 20 years in the Army, including commanding a logistics platoon. Alan brought his leadership experience into civilian HR with the same core mission: take care of people so they can focus on the job at hand.

“One of the biggest things I learned in the Army was taking care of your soldiers so they can focus on the mission,” he says. “I relate that in the civilian world: take care of your employees so they can focus on their job and not have to worry.”

Alan’s leadership philosophy is grounded in honor—a value that’s remained consistent through his career. While the context may have changed, for Alan, honor always means showing up with integrity and accountability to the people he serves.

ICYMI…Pyritic shale is one of the most underestimated geotechnical risks in North America. The damage often doesn't show up until years after construction is complete.

The moment it's exposed to air and moisture during excavation or site prep, it oxidizes which then corrodes infrastructure, and cracks foundations long after the project is done.

Let’s look at a few of the historic examples of what happens when it’s not addressed during construction:

* A Tennessee public library was demolished 21 years after it was built.

We walked through their questions about humidity performance in Houston's climate and how SureVoid handles moisture absorption while maintaining adequate load support. We also introduced StormVoid as an alternative. Given the recent weather events in Houston, StormVoid may be a possible and preferable strategy.

Ana Garcia, our Safety Manager, said it best: "Safety is a culture you build every day."

At the beginning of 2026, all VoidForm facilities rolled out updated PPE standards, improved waste management procedures, and enhanced QR code safety reporting. Our Plant Managers and Floor Supervisors also completed OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training.

Without knowing it, we were already building on this year’s Construction Safety Week theme —"All In Together” and the progress we’ve made.

Most people walking through Ross Park Mall this fall will have no idea what's beneath the new floor.

When Simon Property Group undertook a major renovation of one of Pittsburgh's busiest shopping destinations, the work didn't stop at a new marble tiling.

Beneath the food court slab, Advanced Retail Construction installed approximately 2,900 SF of SureVoid® to protect the new concrete from the pressure of expansive soil.

SureVoid creates a void space around the piers and under the slab, providing critical room for the soil to swell without transferring pressure to the structure above.
