As temperatures drop, your compressed air system starts working against you. 🥶
Cold weather means more condensation. Warm, humid air leaves the compressor, cools in the lines, and drops its moisture as liquid water. If the filter element at your point of use is spent, that water, along with oil aerosol and particulates, passes straight through to your pneumatic tools, valves, and instrument air. The result: corroded fittings, sticking valves, and finish defects.
A filter housing with a spent element is just a fitting in the line.
Before winter sets in, check for:
✅ Rising pressure drop across the filter
✅ Moisture or oil showing up downstream
✅ Elements past their scheduled change interval
✅ Sluggish or inconsistent tool performance
Skipping a change doesn’t save money. It moves the cost downstream into rejected parts, damaged tools, and unplanned maintenance calls. Scheduling element changes before the first hard freeze takes minutes. Repairing what moisture damaged takes days.
