🍂 It’s the little things…

A pretty golden spoon to stir your morning coffee because bougie can be fun.
A seasonal mug for your morning coffee (we all need a seasonal emotional support vessel.)
A fall-inspired Swedish dishcloth because we’re adults, and this is what gets us excited.

We’ve been adding a few beautiful little things to Birch & Bloom — and they’re officially here!

While flowers will always be at the heart of what we do, we also love simple, thoughtful pieces that make everyday moments feel a little more special. So we’ve gathered a small collection of fall-inspired home goods + seasonal finds that we couldn’t resist bringing home with us… and now we’re sharing them with you. 🤎

Everything is available for local pickup or local delivery through our website.

Now available at Birch & Bloom.
Come take a peek — and keep checking back, because we have more little things to come. 🍂

🌿 Farmer Friday: What’s blooming this week? 🌿

Well… that’s a bit of a loaded question.

We’ve had so much rain lately that our flowers have decided to take one last little end-of-summer getaway. They’re all packed up with buds and nowhere to go. 😂

So today’s flower tour is brought to you by buds, leaves, and blind optimism. 🌿

See the photos and captions and you will get the idea. 😅

The good news? There are SO many buds out there. They’re just taking their sweet time this week.

After all the rain and wind we’ve had, I’m honestly pretty impressed they’re still standing. The flowers have their own timeline, and while it’s not always the timeline I’d choose, they’re going to reward us with a whole lot of blooms very soon.

This is our third growing season, and we’ve never had quite this much green and quite so few flowers at this point in the season. 😬So if you’re waiting on a Birch & Bloom bouquet, we promise we haven’t forgotten you! The flowers are coming—they’re just apparently operating on their own schedule. We’ll be cutting as soon as they’re ready, and we’re hoping all these buds are about to turn into a whole lot of blooms. 🌸 Thank you for hanging in there with us!

So for this week’s Farmer Friday:

What’s one flower you’re hoping to see in a Birch & Bloom bouquet this season? 🌼

I’m taking notes! 😉

🌿 Farmer Friday!

I thought it would be fun to start something new.

Have you ever wondered what goes into growing cut flowers? How often do I water? What my favorite flower is? Why some flowers bloom and others don’t? What are my favorite gardening tools?

Ask me anything!

I’ll answer some of your questions!

🌸 Well… hi! 👋

I realized we’ve gained quite a few new faces around here, and after accidentally ghosting Facebook for a while (turns out growing flowers is a little more time-consuming than posting about growing them 😅), I figured it was finally time to introduce myself.

I’m Kate, and together with my husband and our four kids, we’re the family behind Birch & Bloom Flower Farm. I just happen to be the one who spends most of her days in dirt and talking to the flowers and bees.

On any given day you’ll find me planting, weeding, harvesting, replanting, arranging bouquets, washing buckets, checking the weather like somehow that’ll change the forecast, replanting again, and convincing myself that I definitely don’t need to buy more flower seeds. (Spoiler: I usually lose that argument.)

My husband, Paul, and I are raising four amazing kids, and somewhere in the middle of the beautiful “Cope chaos” (as I like to lovingly refer to it) of family life, we decided to chase a dream and start a flower farm.

Some days this dream is really hard. But every time I hand someone a bouquet that’s about to celebrate a birthday, brighten a kitchen table, welcome a new baby, or honor someone they love, I’m reminded exactly why we started

I won’t pretend I wake up every morning excited to pull weeds (because… absolutely not 😅), but I do love a challenge. And I’ve found there’s something incredibly grounding about getting your hands in the dirt. It reminds me to slow down, breathe, and trust that growth usually happens a little at a time.

People often ask where the name Birch & Bloom came from. The “birch” is a nod to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, a place that has always felt like home to my heart and where some of my favorite memories are made. After losing my father-in-law, the name took on an even deeper meaning. Birch trees are known for resilience and new beginnings, and that felt like the perfect symbol for this new chapter our family was stepping into.

To me, Birch & Bloom has never been just about growing flowers. It’s about creating beauty, celebrating life’s happiest moments, bringing comfort during the hardest ones, and sharing a little joy with our community.

If you’ve bought a bouquet, signed up for a subscription, shared one of our posts, recommended us to a friend, or simply followed along and cheered us on—thank you. Every order supports our family’s dream, and every bit of encouragement means more than you know.

I’m so grateful you’re here, and I can’t wait to keep growing right alongside this wonderful community.
