A well-thought out galley kitchen can introduce a lot of functionality into small spaces without sacrificing the overall aesthetic. The key is to design solutions that align with living habits.

For this historic home, we had to work within a limited footprint to create a space that felt contemporary while paying homage to the space’s character.

We organized the cabinetry into cooking, eating, and dishwashing zones, using an asymmetrical upper cabinet layout to bring in natural light and create a sense of openness. Our team also customized the cabinetry to accommodate the kitchen’s angled ceiling.

Trade Design Build and Corners Gallery are now accepting submissions to Material Matters, a collaborative exhibition taking place at the Trade Design Build Gallery. Submissions are due by July 12, 5 PM.

Material Matters will be a shoppable installation of art + design wares, from October 11 - December 20, 2026.

Shaped by a shared interest in art, architecture and interior design, Material Matters will celebrate high craft and the creative impulse by featuring artists and designers using time and material to create works of innovative design, form, and texture.

This custom chandelier is a modern take on mid-century design, using locally sourced materials to interpret elements of the environment inside.

Our woodshop crafted the light fixture in tandem with other custom details throughout the home, including the dining table, bed frame, storage cabinets, and millwork. The resulting design language helped curate a cohesive feel in each room.

We rehauled an early-1900s kitchen, breakfast nook, and dining area, focusing on light finishes to design an airy, welcoming space ready to entertain.

The custom cabinetry work features clean lines typical of Shaker-style craftsmanship but with updated colors, hardware, and a neutral Fireclay Tile backsplash for a modern touch.
