We have some exciting news to share with you! Let's talk about the next chapter of Kearney Ag & Auto...
For us, serving this community never stops when the workday ends. It’s simply who we are.
We are the Reeders, Lonny and Robin, and we are proud to call Kearney home. Lonny was born and raised here, and Robin came to Kearney for college, fell in love with the community, and never left.
For more than 15 years, we have both been active members of the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department. It’s where we met; it’s a big part of who we are, and it has shaped the way we approach life, leadership, and now ownership of Kearney Ag & Auto.
The fire service teaches you a lot about trust. You learn to communicate, to lead when needed, to rely on the person beside you, and most importantly, to take care of one another. Those are the same values we want to bring to Kearney Ag & Auto every day.
We believe strong relationships with our employees and our customers are built on trust, communication, and respect. When you create a workplace around those values, you stop looking at the people beside you as coworkers and start seeing them as family.
That is something we have already experienced at Kearney Ag & Auto, and it is one of the reasons stepping into ownership felt so right.
Mick has been much more than a boss to Lonny over the years. He has been a role model, a mentor, and someone who allowed him to grow within a business that has earned the trust of this community for decades.
When the opportunity came for us to take the reins and continue what Mick has built, the decision felt less like starting something new and more like accepting the responsibility to carry something special forward.
Lonny has been one of the familiar faces, and often the voice behind the scenes, at Kearney Ag & Auto for years. So, while the ownership may have changed, the people and the commitment behind these doors have not.
It’s the same names and faces you have always known. We just have some bigger shoes to fill, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. Our goal isn’t to change what has made Kearney Ag & Auto successful. It’s to build on it. To take care of our employees, earn the trust of our customers, provide quality service, and continue supporting the community that has supported this business and our family for so many years.
For us, owning Kearney Ag & Auto is about more than running an automotive repair shop. It’s about people. It’s about relationships. And it’s about taking care of the community we are fortunate enough to call home.
We will continue to do our best to serve this community, both on and off the clock. Because that’s not just what we do. It’s who we are.
