2026-2027 WINTER SNOW FORECAST

Based on the lack of snowfall around the state last year, this season could seem on the “extreme”side. Keep in mind that we all have a different interpretation of what is “no big deal” and what is “extreme”. Regardless, I’m staying on the slightly above average side with this outlook.

Looking back over the data back to the 1980s, it appears that strong “El Niño patterns seem to favor the central and western part of Nebraska, while the east tends to be closer to average. We shall see!

❄🌧 Snow and rain will start to move across the state on Sunday.!

That snow will be mixed with rain, so accumulations look to be minimal. The rain (and cooler temps) move east Sunday night into next week.
