ABOUT THE ROLE:
Problem Solved Property Services is looking for a dependable Field Apprentice / Material Runner / Property Services Helper to support our estimating, maintenance, and project teams.
This person helps keep jobs moving by picking up materials, delivering supplies to job sites, assisting technicians, helping with cleanup, and being an extra set of hands wherever needed.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
● Pick up materials from suppliers such as Menards, Home Depot, Lowe’s, lumber yards, flooring stores,
and other vendors.
● Deliver materials, tools, parts, and supplies to job sites throughout the Lansing / Mid-Michigan area.
● Help unload, carry, organize, and stage materials so technicians can work efficiently.
● Assist technicians and contractors as an extra set of hands on maintenance, repair, and renovation jobs.
● Help with light demo, cleanup, hauling, job site organization, and basic support tasks.
● Return unused materials when needed and help keep receipts organized.
● Take photos of materials, receipts, job sites, or completed tasks as requested.
● Help keep vehicles, tools, and materials organized.
● Run parts, supplies, and equipment between job sites, vendors, and the shop.
● Follow directions from estimators, technicians, project leads, and office staff.
● Represent the company professionally with vendors, tenants, clients, and team members.
THE RIGHT PERSON WILL HAVE:
● A strong work ethic and a good attitude.
● Reliability and the ability to show up on time.
● A willingness to learn property maintenance, repairs, renovations, and construction services from theground up.
● The ability to follow directions and ask questions when something is unclear.
● Basic common sense around tools, materials, vehicles, and job sites.
● Good communication skills.
● The ability to work independently once given clear instructions.
● A team-first mindset and a willingness to jump in where needed.
Helpful Experience, But Not Required
● Construction, maintenance, landscaping, warehouse, delivery, moving, remodeling, or handyman experience.
● Experience using basic tools.
● Experience pulling materials, loading trucks, organizing supplies, or working around job sites.
● Interest in growing into maintenance, field work, project support, or estimating support over time.
Requirements
● Valid driver’s license.
● Reliable transportation.
● Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload materials.
● Ability to work at different properties throughout the Lansing / Mid-Michigan area.
● Ability to use a smartphone for communication, photos, maps, and basic job updates.
● Must be dependable, organized, and willing to work.
COMPENSATION
Pay will be $17-$19 per hour, based on experience, reliability, and ability. This is an apprentice/helper-level position with room to grow as skills develop.
