Noticing a white, chalky appearance on your concrete curbing? This is called efflorescence, and it’s a completely normal part of the curing process for concrete products. It happens when natural salts within the concrete rise to the surface as moisture evaporates.

The good news is that efflorescence is cosmetic only — it does not affect the strength or durability of your curbing, and it is completely fixable. In many cases, it will naturally fade over time with weather and rainfall, while other situations may benefit from professional cleaning and sealing.

Concrete is a natural product, and some variation during the curing process is expected. Proper maintenance and sealing can help keep your curbing looking clean, vibrant, and protected for years to come.

Sprinkler heads & concrete curbing - how do they mix?

A quick heads-up we always share with homeowners before we start a curbing job:

We’re able to move sprinkler heads if needed so your new curbing layout stays clean, functional, and doesn’t interfere with your irrigation system. Our crews are trained in how to handle and relocate heads properly, and we also have a dedicated irrigation crew available if needed. You’re also always welcome to use your preferred sprinkler contractor if you already have one you trust.

To help things go smoothly, we just ask that you mark all sprinkler heads ahead of time before we arrive. It makes the install more efficient and helps ensure nothing gets missed!

We will be out of the office today in observance of Memorial Day.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the men and women who have served our country and protected our freedom, our lives, and our nation. We especially recognize those who made the ultimate sacrifice—your courage and service will never be forgotten.

What are control joints—and why do they matter?

Control joints are intentional cuts we place in concrete curbing during installation to help guide natural movement as the concrete expands and contracts with weather changes. Instead of random cracking, they help keep everything clean, controlled, and uniform over time.

They’re a simple but important detail that helps improve the durability and long-term appearance of your curbing!

How do we apply patterns to our curb?

Once the curb is extruded and shaped, our crew applies the chosen pattern while the concrete is still in the perfect working stage—not too wet, not too set. This is where experience really matters.

We use specialized stamping tools and hand-finishing techniques to press the pattern into the surface, ensuring clean, consistent detail throughout the entire run of curbing. Every section is carefully worked to keep the pattern flowing naturally around curves, corners, and transitions.

Is landscape curbing durable? Yes—when it’s done right, concrete curbing is built to last for years and handle the elements with ease.

We use a special blend of concrete, sand, fibers, and steel cable to ensure strong structural integrity and a long-lasting finish. This combination helps create curbing that is built for durability, not just appearance. To further protect your investment, we install control joints to help prevent cracking over time.

And once everything is complete, we seal every job with a protective coating to enhance durability, preserve color, and help your curbing stay looking fresh for years to come.

Bottom line: this isn’t just curb appeal—it’s built to last. 💪

Even though fall has passed, we loved finishing this project late last season!

We installed tan colored natural-style curbing to give this yard a clean, polished look while blending seamlessly with the landscaping. Doing curbing late in the season means the yard is ready to shine when spring arrives—strong, durable, and low maintenance.

We are thrilled with how this one turned out!
