OBITUARY
James (Jim) Kreifels
March 12, 1937 - June 1, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of James “Jim” Kreifels of Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 12, 1937, in Nebraska City, Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He married the love of his life, Patricia, in 1957, and together they built a beautiful life grounded in faith, family, and hard work.

Jim was the proud founder of Action Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, where he led by example with honesty, fairness, and integrity. He never had a day where he didn’t want to go to work—and that passion inspired everyone around him.

Jim was a respected leader in his industry and a past president of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) of Lincoln and PHCC of Nebraska. He also served on the National PHCC Board of Directors, making a lasting impact on the trades community across the country. Locally, he dedicated his time to the City of Lincoln Plumbing Appeals Board, Mayor’s Code Study Committee, and Unified Construction Council.

He was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jim’s strength, optimism, and deep faith carried him through every chapter of life.

A loyal fan of the Nebraska Huskers, Kansas City Royals, and Dallas Cowboys, Jim loved the outdoors and cherished time with family above all. He found his greatest joy in cheering on his 7 children, 13 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren at countless games, recitals, and celebrations.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. Jim’s legacy of leadership, service, and kindness will always be remembered.
