Design Direction with Lis: Let’s Talk About Lighting 💡
The clocks changed, and now it feels like nighttime before we’ve even figured out what’s for dinner!
This is the time of year when you really notice whether a room has good lighting. One overhead fixture usually isn’t enough. The most comfortable rooms use layers:
• Recessed or ceiling lighting for general light
• Pendants or sconces for character
• Under-cabinet lighting for tasks
• Lamps for a softer evening glow
• Accent lighting to highlight built-ins, artwork or architectural details
Good lighting doesn’t just help you see better. It can make colors feel warmer, rooms feel larger and your whole house feel more inviting through a long Northeast Ohio winter.

We also took the opportunity to freshen up the painted finish and clean off the refrigerator. Two other very simple updates that make a big difference.
