This old porch had some serious peeling problems. 😳

We could have scraped the loose paint, put a fresh coat over it, and called it good.

But there’s a difference between doing enough and doing the best we can.

We addressed the failing surface with Sherwin-Williams PrimeRx Peel Stop C to help stabilize the old paint and create a better foundation. Then we finished the ceiling with Duration Flat and gave the decking and posts a fresh coat of solid stain.

The result? A porch that looks completely different—and, more importantly, one that was properly prepared before the finish went on.

At Galaxy’s Edge Painting, we’re not interested in doing just enough to say the job is done.

This is the third time a homeowner has asked us to paint their backsplash.

And if I’m being truthful, every single time my first thought is:

“I don’t know if that’s the right move…”

Then we finish it, step back, and I immediately have to admit I was wrong. 😂

These homeowners chose Origami White to update their backsplash, and the transformation is incredible. The original tile had warm beige and yellow tones that dated the space and competed with the beautiful wood cabinetry. By brightening the backsplash, the entire kitchen feels cleaner, lighter, and more current without changing the cabinets, countertops, or flooring.

It’s a great reminder that sometimes a simple paint project can create a dramatic difference for a fraction of the cost of replacement.
