This beautiful old mahogany had grown into a thick, low-hanging canopy with a lot of dead wood working its way through it. Left alone, those dead limbs become a hazard during the next big blow, and the dense crown puts unnecessary wind load on a tree that has spent decades earning its spot.

Our crew lifted the canopy to give the house room to breathe, shaped and reduced the crown for a cleaner profile, and pulled out the dead wood throughout. The result is a healthier tree, a safer property, and a much better look from the street.

Mahoganies, gumbo limbos, poincianas, and the other mature hardwoods of the Keys deserve experienced hands. If yours could use some attention before storm season picks up, give us a call.

Some properties present real access challenges. Narrow lanes, overhead utilities, mature canopies that have been left to grow into power lines. These jobs require a crew that has done it before, with equipment built for the work.

This week our team handled exactly that kind of job in Old Town Key West. The bucket truck fit where it needed to fit, the boom reached what it needed to reach, and the crew left the property cleaner than they found it.

Our customer is replacing their fence and needed a clean slate to work with. The Dot Palm crew rolled in, took down this entire row of mature areca palms, hauled everything off, and ground the stumps down flush. By the time we packed up, you couldn't tell a thing had been there. Just a clean, level grade ready for the new fence to go up and for whatever comes next.

This beautiful Key West canopy was crowding the power lines and swallowing the front of the house. Our crew brought it back into balance using three core arborist techniques:

✂️ SHAPED
Selective pruning to restore a clean, symmetrical silhouette that complements the property.

⬆️ LIFTED
Removed lower limbs to raise the crown well above the roof line, opening up sight lines and letting the house breathe.

🌳 REDUCED
Carefully thinned the upper canopy to pull the tree back from the utility lines without stressing long-term tree health.

The result: a safer, healthier tree and a fully restored front elevation.
