Fall is a good time to give your garage door a quick once over.

Open and close it and watch the whole way. It should run smooth and even. Take a look at the springs and cables above the door without touching them, and make sure nothing is stored near the tracks or the sensors by the floor. Check the rubber seal at the bottom too, and test the safety reverse the way your opener manual shows.

If anything looks off, stop using the door and give us a call.

Can you see daylight under your garage door?

Before it gets cold, take a look at the rubber seal along the bottom of the door. If it’s flattened, cracked or torn, it’s letting in cold air, water and the occasional mouse. Gaps on the sides and top are a different seal that runs along the door frame.
