Products are manufactured by our team of well trained, highly skilled employees. We continue to stay ahead of the latest construction trends and procedures, while reinforcing our commitment to personalized customer service. Utility Concrete Products has secured the Quality Certification of the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) and is a PCI (Precast / Prestressed Concrete Institute) Certified Plant. The NPCA and PCI independently, in conjunction with nationally recognized engineering firms, have developed certification programs dedicated to setting the highest standards for plant facilities, production operations and quality control procedures. In annual inspections by NPCA, and a minimum of two annual inspections by PCI, the independent nationally accredited engineering firms grade our plant with high standards on various critical aspects of plant operation, including safety, materials, mixing and batching, production practices and quality control. The cerification programs continue to build specifier confidence in precast concrete and has established the material as one of choice, built to exacting standards in factory conditions. Products from Utility Concrete include precast concrete retaining walls, sound walls and manholes as well as many others. Please contact us for information and pricing.

As part of the Village of Oak Lawn’s ongoing efforts to address long-standing flooding concerns, a new stormwater detention system is being constructed to manage high-volume storm events and improve overall system performance. This work includes the fabrication and supply of custom precast junction chambers by Utility Concrete Products, designed to accommodate major flow transitions between existing infrastructure and the new system.

UCP produced two custom junction chambers, with the larger of the two measuring 28’ x 14’ and engineered to connect multiple large-diameter storm lines. These units serve as key distribution points, directing flow and managing system capacity within the detention network.

The size and complexity of the pipe penetrations, combined with strict coordination requirements for inverts, rims, and elevations, required fully custom fabrication using Symons panel formwork rather than standard precast forms. The heaviest section of this structure alone weighed approximately 59,550 pounds, with the full assembly weighing upwards of 183,000 pounds.

This type of infrastructure demands careful planning and precise ex*****on at every stage. Projects like this continue to influence how large-scale stormwater systems are designed, coordinated, and constructed in the field.

Have you noticed all the new soundwall going up along I-80?

Yep, UCP produced all of it!

With more than five miles of wall being installed across several projects, these walls will help reduce roadway noise while enhancing the look of communities throughout Illinois.

Another look at our work on the USACE Lock & Dam 22 Fish Passage project.

This piece is one of the standard debris boom blocks- smaller than the Type F units, but still no joke at ~35’ long and over 125,000 lbs. Designed to tie into the full debris boom system, these units help control and guide floating debris while maintaining flow through the structure.

Each block is cast with 5,000 PSI concrete, reinforced with Grade 60 steel, and outfitted with integrated lifting anchors for safe handling and placement in demanding field conditions.

The custom lifting beam setup shown here isn’t just for looks- it ensures proper load distribution and controlled picks on a piece this size, reducing stress on the structure during handling.

From plant to water, everything about this job required precision- fabrication, lifting, transport, and final install.

Another solid example of UCP delivering engineered precast solutions where standard products don’t cut it.

Transformer pads are some of the most frequently sold items that we produce and keep in stock. They can make your project a breeze, in addition to saving time and money on site versus a cast-in-place pad.
