So this afternoon and evening, I am working on “cracking” garlic for planting.

Some varieties of hard neck garlic, you can hold the bulb upside down and hit the neck on a hard surface, and it cracks the garlic open. Those are pictures three and four.
The stems have to be very straight in order to do that, some of our varieties, the necks are curved so you’re using your fingers/hands to pry it all apart, breaking each clove from the head.

I’m glad I have a hot paraffin bath for my hands this time of year! Between cleaning the garlic and breaking apart the garlic, the hands get very sore.

Rise and shine! It’s Market time!
It’s a beautiful morning here at New Berlin and it looks like it’s going to be a glorious day!
And yes, there’s still lots of wonderful produce to be found at the farmers markets! We are far from done!
A few things are slowing down. There’s a few things that are done, but it’s fall harvest!
The New Berlin Market runs to the end of October.
The West Allis farmers market is every Tuesday, Thursday, except Thanksgiving and Saturday to the end of November!

Rise and shine! It’s Market time!
It’s a beautiful crisp fall morning here at New Berlin, farmers market!
Peppers, sweet and hot, daikon radish, tomatoes , still some patty pans, little bit of zucchini, plenty of garlic and more!

New Berlin this morning until 11 and then West Allis starting at 1 to 5 this afternoon.

Rise and shine! It’s Market time! It is a beautiful crisp fall morning!

It will be a beautiful day to shop your local farmers markets, and yes, there is still plenty of produce to be found!

We have plenty of picking left to do in the fields, so don’t think because it’s the end of September it’s over.

The New Berlin market runs to the end of October, we have five more Saturdays mornings here!

The West Allis farmers market runs to the end of November, the Saturday after Thanksgiving will be our last day there.
You can find us there three days a week, Tuesday, Thursdays, except Thanksgiving and Saturday afternoons.
The weekday markets run from noon to five, the Saturday Market is from 1 to 5 PM.
We look forward to seeing you at the Market!

We are still here at New Berlin market.. we are packing up at 10:30.

The New Berlin farmers market is open, there are two produce vendors here there are apples here there’s a coffee truck here and more!

The rain is starting to let up, we have a small set up here at New Berlin, not sure how long we will be here today so if you need something come early!

Otherwise, we will see you this afternoon at the West Allis Market starting at thr 1-5pm.
